Sometimes I look at the wastebasket under my desk and think about the scene in The Fugitive where Tommy Lee Jones is looking through Harrison Ford's trash, and says "Looks like we're eating oranges and making fake IDs," or something like that.
I don't really have anything to say about it, except that maybe I should eat more fruit and fewer protein bars. If not for my health, then at least so that no hapless detective will ever be put in the awkward position of having to say "Looks like we're eating Bob's Red Mill brand oat bars and keeping our fingernails trimmed to an appropriate length."
Today in Labor History June 21, 1982: John Hinckley was found not guilty by reason of insanity for the attempted assassination of U.S. President Ronald Reagan in 1981. A Few years later (1990), Reagan was found not guilty by reason of dementia, when he said “I don’t recall,” 88 times during the Iran-Contra hearings, a rate of more than 10 per hour. (In 1994, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s). Hinkley said he tried to assassinate Reagan to impress actress Jody Foster, who had played Iris, a twelve-year-old prostitute in the film Taxi Driver. In that film, Robert DeNiro’s character, Travis Bickle, tries to assassinate the president. And from all this came one of the more amusing band names from the classic era of Hardcore Punk, JFA, or Jody Foster’s Army.

I finally watched the Blue Beatle movie. I wish it was better. There were good parts, but it suffered from DCs inability to make a super hero movie not “gritty”.
The “we aren’t killers” message in the middle and very end is kinda undermined by all the killing the heroes allies do back half of the movie.
I love Jaime in the comics. I love Ted Kord as well. It’s a shame they didn’t translate it well to the movie. I blame the director, the writers, and WB management.
#OnThisDay, June 15, in 1215, overseen by a council of barons, King John of England put his seal to Magna Carta, a cornerstone of the idea of the liberty of citizens (depicted in Ironclad, 2011)
A friend worked in printer/plotter service for a long time. He picked up 3D printing, 3D design, and Photoshop stuff as a hobby. He made the designs for these lightsabers for himself, printed them, painted them - There's no metal in this picture.
He's at loose ends, mid-life, and wants to change careers. Big Time movie buff. I would love to get him in touch with some people in special effects/film and make magic happen. #movies#film#design#GetFediHired
Like all Looney Tunes fans, I'm excited about The Day the Earth Blew Up. I believe it's been picked up for a German release and another country or two- hopefully it will hit USA theaters here soon. I talked about it some semi-recently over at https://animatedtvblog.wordpress.com.
It just hit Annecy, got RAVE reviews, and now there's more of it to preview - here's one of the scenes. 🌎💥
What should I watch tonight? I finished rewatching season 3 of Evil and don't want to start the final season until all episodes are available.

#OnThisDay, June 9, 1954 was the turning point for Senator Joseph McCarthy's anti-Communist crusade, when Army counsel Joseph Welch asked him, “Have you no sense of decency, sir? At long last, have you left no sense of decency?” (depicted in Tail Gunner Joe, 1977)
