One more post for Trans Day of Visibility, an assortment of wrestlers and refs who are trans, non binary, gender queer. Wrestling will always be my first love to photograph and as a trans photographer, it's always great to be accepted and trusted to shoot these moments
On this #TransDayOfVisiblity, I want to specifically highlight Bernie Wagenblast.
She is one of the famous announcer voices for New York City's Metropolitan Transit Authority! (See video for demonstration)
From her wikipedia page: Bernie Wagenblast is a transportation journalist, radio personality and voice-over artist. She is the founder and editor of the Transportation Communications Newsletter. She also edits The AASHTO Daily Transportation Update, published by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, and hosts AASHTO's ETAP Podcast and the ITE Talks Transportation podcast for the Institute of Transportation Engineers.
Trans folks putting the 'trans' in public transit!
Easter means a lot to me. I know it's not everyone's holiday, but if you feel like I do about Easter and you have ever wondered if the story of Easter is for you-- don't let anyone tell you it's not.
I can't possibly apologize for all of the harm done in the name of a beautiful story. But, I think it's because of how fundamentally subversive "love thy neighbor" really is, if you take it seriously. So, the message is often poisoned at the source.
Oh, and a happy (where possible) and well-loved (for all) Trans Day of Visibility to all trans, non-binary, and otherwise not-cis people. Love, power, cakes and general good vibes to everyone who is visible, invisible, hoping to be visible, or has any other relationship with visibility in this unreasonable and hard world.
Admittedly, I don't have cake available right now, but you're all welcome to come around to mine for a hot cross bun or a biscuit or whatever chocolate I have in the cupboard.
