Woke up. 10:11. I missed the debate, I thought. I turned on the TV. Asked about Americans needing substance use disorder treatment, Trump starts yammering about ā€œcatch and releaseā€ border policies, because treating humans like fish somehow gets people SUD treatment? I turned the TV off and felt true despair that this rapist fraudulent filth has true believers.

One drawback of using the Internet for grocery shopping is that scented products are crapshoot. For some unknown reason, blue Dawn dish detergent has a new scent, akin to the perfumes old rich ladies love, floral with a chemical underbite, and it clings to the skin. Now I have a big bottle that is three months+ worth of the stuff and I have to try again to find non-latex dishwashing gloves because I canā€™t walk around smelling like this every time I wash a plate.

Had I purchased this in person in a store, I wouldā€™ve smelled it before I bought it.

And all of this is necessary because the dye-free, lower scent version of Dawn, which has a light chemical lemon scent thatā€™s mainly inoffensive, doesnā€™t clean well. It takes a soup spoon of blue Dawn to wash a sink full of dishes, and twice that of the dye-free, and more on my sponge. They are definitely not the same base product with different colorings and perfumes at all.

@sollat iā€™ve never tried Mrs. Meyers. I went through every ā€œfree and clearā€œ dish liquid Icould order. Seventh Generation, Palmolive, Ivory, Dawn, and they just donā€™t clean well. Since I hand wash everything, donā€™t have a dishwasher, I actually need something that can clean my pots and my casserole dishes with baked on food.

It really is hard to overstate how sleazy and inexcusable it is to churn out a constant stream of non-news stories (vaguely disguised op-eds, really) about Biden being too old to lead, based on nebulous feelings and speech foibles that arenā€™t new.

His age isnā€™t going to change and barring death or calamity, neither is the reality that heā€™s going to be the nominee up against a rapist fascist who promises to burn everything down. Pretending this is a real choice is journalistic malpractice.

@maco neither is telling stories about someone and calling them by the name of someone else who held the same office in the past, or in another country. People got very up in arms about a Macron-Mitterrand gaffe. He was doing stuff like that in the 80s.

@maco Iā€™m good with names, Iā€™m bad on years. Iā€™m always saying ā€œwhen did that happen?ā€ I even had to remind myself of what year my grandfather died by looking him up in the social security death index.
