Some amazing results overnight and sadly I'm one of the few folks still left with a Tory MP in #SkiptonAndRipon - Julian 'photo opportunity' Smith had a 24000 majority slashed to 1650 with Labour a close second - we're in a very rural traditional Tory voting area so that feels like a huge thing. Fantastic news that the #Greens won all 4 of their target seats!
Same number of seats as Reform UK, but only one of those parties achieved that through good old-fashioned grass-roots campaigning, while being largely ignored by the media instead of being bigged up by them at every turn, and without dirty Russian money backing them.
If you think we’ve not had 13 fascists in the House of Commons before, you’ve not been paying attention.
But a lot of people did vote Reform, because bigots gonna bigot. It would be a bigger showing if not for FPTP, and we would just have to deal with that, alongside more Greens etc.
For now, we may as well have a few of this rabble in the Commons, holding their breath and shitting themselves in full view of the public.
Even just doing a finger-width of lager every time a Conservative seat was lost could mean drinking as many as 25 pints. If someone is suggesting a drinking game based on Tory seat losses, assume they're trying to kill you.
