I didn't think Kyrie was capable of getting his shit together and start playing at his level consistently again. I was proven wrong.

It's amazing what happens when you stop native american incense burning and other bullshit antics. He used to be my favorite player until he stopped playing basketball and decided to educate the world on society issues, and failed miserably. Maybe he is mentally right again.

laimis OP ,

@Tim_Eagon lol I am afraid Kyrie is deep down envious of Aaron Rodgers "scientific thinking" approach.

@laimis Probably, but evidently he's not dumb enough to go full Rodgers, at least publicly.

DEN led by 5 after 1. Lead by 15 at the half.

No wonder he looks knackered ...

so the USA billionaire mafia bought themselves judges and a Congress to deregulate , and quickly turned bookies into partners into their VC-funded gambling schemes, are now turning against and going after personnel and athletes for allegedly gambling?

as long as executives at and any other sports leagues are in cahoots with black-box gambling sites that can manipulate wins & loses with a line a code, they're the ones that should be RICO'ed into oblivion.

@blogdiva Preach, my Sistah!

These days, you can't read any sports website or listen to sports talking heads without wading several layers deep into betting odds, stats and other horseshit.

To the point where high school kids at their games - in this instance, lacrosse - were talking about the odds for an NBA game!

Seriously, what the fuck?

Both Steph and Sabrina could’ve won the 3 point contest Dame won. That’s my big takeaway.

So fans Joel Embiid is having surgery and that sucks

I don't care if your fav team is another eastern contender, this is a fucking bummer. Everyone knows he was having his best and most enjoyable to watch season ever, by far, but I'm not sure everyone really saw exactly how amazing it was. By some metrics he was in the middle of the greatest NBA scoring season ever! At 1+ points per minute played he was even ahead of the legendary Wilt Chamberlain seasons for highest rate of all time.

mrcompletely OP ,
@mrcompletely@heads.social avatar

@philip_cardella yeah slightly over 1 for the season, the all time highest. And on some nights it passed the eye test of "this is as unstoppable as anything I've ever seen" - power post game, footwork game outside the restricted area, and then raining jumpers from all over the court? Fucking crazy

@philip_cardella the Grizzlies injury list is the kind of thing that makes people believe in conspiracy theories. It's nuts

The Grizzlies have 13 — yes, thirteen — players ruled out due to injury vs. Celtics today. Memphis will play with Luke Kennard, David Roddy, three players on two-way deals and three players on 10-day hardship deals.

@philip_cardella @emarktaylor @nba As a Warriors fan, very true. They were missing a lot of players last month, and even more now. They play hard! The grit remains a factor no matter who plays. I definitely admire that about them.

Today in Labor History March 2, 1962: Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 points in one basketball game, setting an NBA record. The closest anyone has come to this record was Kobe Bryant’s 81-point game in 2006. Chamberlain also broke the record for most free throws scored during a game. That season, he averaged over 50 points per game, scoring over 60 points in 12 games. No one has come close to this. Wilt also had a 78-point game in 1961, two 73-point games in 1962, a 72-point game in 1962 and a 70-point game in 1963. Chamberlain has 5 the 8 single highest single game point totals in NBA history. I was lucky enough to see him play once, as a kid, toward the end of his career, when he was playing for the now defunct San Diego Conquistadores.

Chamberlain holds 72 NBA records, including records in scoring and rebounding. He once made 55 rebounds in a single game. He is not only the only NBA player to average over 30 points and 20 rebounds per game over the course of a season, he did this seven times in his career. He left college early to play professionally, at first with the Harlem Globetrotters because, in those days, the NBA refused to accept players until their graduating year of college had ended. One of the Globetrotters’ skits involved team captain, Meadowlark Lemon, feigning injury and falling to the floor. Instead of helping him up, Chamberlain lifted the 210-pound Lemon and threw him several feet into the air, and then caught him, like a ragdoll. Lemon called Chamberlain the strongest athlete who ever lived. In 1967, Chamberlain nearly got the opportunity to box against Muhammad Ali.
