If you're using DuckDuckGo, they have AI Assist on by default. Go to duckduckgo[dot]com main page, click on those three little lines in upper right corner-->Settings --> AI Features --> Toggle all features to OFF.
In the near future a mass of people are going to die in a city from the heat, and the headlines will say that "it wouldn't have been so bad except the power went out"
Heat is going to take down power systems. The power systems that could protect us from an event, will be harmed by the event.
618 people in Canada, in the mountains, in the forest, died of a #climate heat event, on the floors of their homes, on their beds. No flames. Just a days heat.
The power stayed on, it would have been worse
Low latency, has the options I need, and I appreciate the defaults of leaving the query in the URL and in the page title.
SearXNG is a meta-search engine. You can use it as a front-end to one or multiple search engines such as DuckDuckGo, Google, Bing, Qwant, ..., it only depends on what your instance makes available.
"A global outage is affecting a variety of Microsoft services, including its Bing search engine and Copilot AI tool.
Users turned to social media on Thursday to complain about the outage, which is also impacting third parties, including the search engine DuckDuckGo, which relies on Microsoft’s infrastructure."
Folks, I know… I use Duck Duck Go also but remember they have venture capital. Enjoy it while it lasts (or let’s fund and build alternatives differently that aren’t temporary businesses with profit motives and exits but commons-owned institutions working for the common good).
OFC, I checked a host of sources, including European. All state the same so far.
Try "heli crash Raisi" and #DuckDuckGo--all the same in several languages:
"hard landing" and "search."
#AlJazeera has SOME good reporting and is definitely one of the most interested publications in the matter.
A death of a prominent politician can not be hidden all too long, just the circumstances be "re-interpreted."
Raisi is not at the very top of my Wanted List, but the world would...

I deleted my Samsung Account.
I tried changing my e-mail from Gmail to something else, and Samsung kept telling me every e-mail I wanted to use was not allowed. For example, Duck dot Com provided by DuckDuckGo was not allowed.
Samsung was in the way of avoiding Google and so Samsung, had to do. I am not going to compromise. The goal is to delete, Google and Microsoft too.

#DuckDuckGo makes the same claim as well. IMO it’s a great marketing tactic to say “we have our own crawler” to imply to people they will get some unique results-- but I’m not convinced that supplemental crawlers are significant. They are all too happy to rely on the crutch of the search engines they source from.
#DuckDuckGo, always the obvious "not Google" choice; but ISTR them having their own ethical quandaries? & are "just Bing"? Brief trial "feels good” tho, need to dig more.
#Ecosia sounds like a nice idea, but is probably just greenwashing?
#Marginalia is cool but not quite the same level as Goog/DDG/Kagi, too narrowly focused to be a catchall.
