Heck, that link goes so far as to have a personal experience where they think an opposum brought ticks with Lyme disease from a dear with it that affected their dog.
My one question is, would it be that easy to see a tick in an opposum's stomach contents?
Unless you live in certain counties in the southern United States, where technically you need a prescription for a "marital aid." Adult stores have to label everything as "novelty use only." Really dumb.
Cocaine is also technically available as a prescription dental/oral/nasal anesthetic but I doubt there are any dentists and ENTs who want the headache and DEA spotlight on them when alternatives are available.
Real talk: nobody should use these things. Not Google's, not Amazon's, not Apple's... They are all capable of spying on you, and also being compromised by hackers.
Yeah, there was a lot of pain and learning involved but you know what: I can do that, and not having Megacorp listening devices at home was the hill I decided to spend some time on.
Happy to hear that matey. I died on that hill trying to achieve the same thing.
Either way I simply don't use any assistance so no need to go for tradeoffs

Yeah, I had a financial incentive to be honest, because HA optimizes my energy usage by regulating the heat pump, the car chargers, sun heat influx with the shutters etc. to get the most out of my solar electric panels, solar thermal panels, home batteries and dynamic energy pricing. Everything I did regarding it pays off, the rest, like, lights folliwing me across the garden etc. are just a neat thing that fell out of the entire project basically for free.
It definitely has a learning curve but as someone who is much more hands on with very little programming experience, I actually found it pretty intuitive. And frankly for the things that aren't super intuitive, there's a community support thread for basically anything you could want to do.
Never thought I would have one, but homeassistant made it easy enough for me to program my own wall mounted control panel, that it just made sense.
Every time I see this comment I make the point that, from a privacy perspective, they are likely better than average consumer, non-rooted, non-linux* phones, laptops, desktops.
They give back one geographic position - your house, and you don't give them credit card, social security, Healthcare or other personal information like you frequently use your phone and computer for.
You don't even use them to search for porn (cue one guy saying he does)
please feel free to bicker about what counts as a "Linux phone" but I won't join in.
So, this'll ne today's "akchually" comment, but before I start I'd like to make two things clear :
I'm a bit alcoholized (for good reasons) and I probably wouldn't be writing this otherwise.
All the animals involved aeare awesome, I love townthem(?) and want to share love and enthusiasm about them.
So, armadillos are xenarthrans and apparently zoologists don't know exactly how to classify them, there are different theories. Pretty much everyone agrees that therethey are placental mammals, which makes them closer to us than possums are, but are therethey closer to us or to elephants? Big question. Many answers. Xenarthrans also include sloths, and anteaters. They have weird vertebrae. That's there big thing. I don't know the details, but apparently no other mammals have vertebrae quite like theirs. And their metabolism is pretty slow too, by mammal standards. Anyways, they're beautiful. And you're beautiful too.
[Edit: I later corrected the typos but left them as evidence.
Australian possums are scarier than what ever these things are, the fuckers sound like demons outside your window and wake you in the middle of the night
Yeah, apparently marsupials first arose in North America and then migrated by some mechanism to Australia. Placental mammals arrived or also arose on North America as well which is why our marsupials are so...just opossums. But there were no mammals on Australia so they spread to many niches.
There is only one answer: Rock out harder and indicate to them that you're having a good time.
If they're decent then they'll like it, and if they're not, then it'll do them good to get all irritated under their skin about it when they see that you're having fun. You're allowed to have fun.
Most of the time people smile. I always try to guess if someone is listening to the same radio station. Seems less and less likely, but it would be fun.
Opossums
