If the car is recharged at home, you may never need to stop to add gas. Electric is the future bro, get over your hangups.

Sizzler ,

Not at home it's not. Where's your back garden petrol station lol.

Sizzler ,

You're just using any scenario to claim the win. You're generally speaking for the least likely group to have electric cars atm.

Sizzler ,

Charged at home and never needed to stop. Ten mins down the road already.
Go shout at clouds old man.

Sizzler ,

It's mentioned in the films, think it's the Stark foundation that covers hero damage.

Sizzler ,

Lol, remote and UK is about 5 Scottish islande.

Sizzler ,

Haha, check out this guy, afraid of bees.

Sizzler ,

20 years without a tele. All the films on PC monitor. No ads.

Die Antwoord are the controversial musicians who front this movie along with the robot, people use them as an excuse to attack it. I feel like if you look at DA, who look like human graffiti surrounded by large symbolic basic graffiti and think they are good people who will lead by example; then good luck..
Not an overly complex movie but one that fills part of the space of robots and humans learning to "communicate". I robot in Africa.

Rewilding is bringing creatures back to UK – but a lack of funds is holding it back ( www.bigissue.com )

Beavers are back in London. For the first time in 400 years, a family of wild beavers are calling the capital their home, nibbling away at trees and building dams in a nature reserve in west London. They didn’t find their way to Greenford accidentally, however. Their presence is a testament to a growing rewilding movement...

Sizzler ,

I know someone highup involved in one of the Southern rewilding processes. Acted like this was them being all about the environment. Flew to Middle East and back for the next weekend for a quick rest trip.
Just typical that the people involved are often not really committed.

Also freegle

Remember there's often plenty of requests for help. If you feel guilty about taking you can still give back in the form of experience and time.

Sizzler ,

Its just another inflammatory post to rally everyone in a single direction. Either worry or don't worry. Your choice.

Sizzler ,

It's only a personal anecdote but I've heard of places such as Dubai where antibiotics are available without prescription and there is no advice/reminder to finish the course, so people stop when they feel better leading to higher chances of antibiotic-resistant strains surviving.

Not much we can do to stop that behaviour, but remember to finish your antibiotics if you are prescribed them.

I was interested in an Amstrad HiFi for retro reasons and tumbled down the rabbit hole. Alan Sugar conned an entire country.

Sizzler ,

Didn't own the company just the sole British distribution rights

edit to add: He lived on the south coast, used and enjoyed the product, and was moving out of the way for a pedestrian on a narrow path and went backwards over the cliff edge. A tragedy that doesn't belong in this thread.

Do you need a dentist visit every 6 months? That filling? The data is weak ( arstechnica.com )

A 2020 Cochrane review that assessed the two clinical trials concluded that "whether adults see their dentist for a check‐up every six months or at personalized intervals based on their dentist's assessment of their risk of dental disease does not affect tooth decay, gum disease, or quality of life. Longer intervals (up to 24...

Smaller versions of this have decent real-world applications. Good prototype, but shrink it to USB size now and you've got phone security. Will be interesting to see how this develops.

Sizzler ,

The bear will eat you alive.

Sizzler ,

Also some women, what's your point?

Sizzler ,

The worst devil's advocate you will ever do.

Sizzler ,

That it's obviously a problem with some people and not just one of the sexes. Get outta here with your misandry. We're all bored with it.

Sizzler ,

One day you'll understand, but right now you are calling all the male members of your family rapists. I have a feeling you don't have children but if you did, well...

Sizzler ,

Where I'm from only men are capable of rape in legalese. So to me your first statement is obviously correct and yet creates the lie.

Also you just said your son(future?) is a rapist.

It creates a vacuum where men (even male children) are not seen as victims, and provokes hostility.

I absolutely have a problem with the way women can be treated within society yet I can see that it is within a bigger problem of general dissatisfaction. If you help create strong and confident men, you get less creeps.

The sooner we realise that both sexes together can work to solve this horrid issue, the better. That starts with much less generalised finger pointing.

Wish you all the best.

Sizzler ,

Hang out in the forest with strange men and bears, or strange bear men. Whatever.

Sizzler ,

One person equating their personal experience to everyone. Clearly not realising that within the next 24 hrs the guys will get back, see the results and dump at least 1/5th of their unfaithful partners.

Sizzler ,

That's good, standard batteries last around 5 years so you got 2 extra.

Sizzler ,

That is a man who was the Govenor of California. Eats and drinks weird stuff? You mean healthy and lots of protein?

Sizzler ,

You do it by organising and provoking change via the fediverse. There comes the balance where (negatively spun) news media reports of its existence drive curiosity to main stream audience searching it out.

Sizzler , (edited )

Heck, that link goes so far as to have a personal experience where they think an opposum brought ticks with Lyme disease from a dear with it that affected their dog.

My one question is, would it be that easy to see a tick in an opposum's stomach contents?

Sizzler ,

You don't need such regimented rows, don't let ivy grow on your house (that's asking for brickwork issues(and bugs in the house)), have a trellise a metre away if you want. The wood pile isn't obvious enough. Compost bin?

Sizzler ,

I get that they are talking about the numbers recorded are shrinking, but they are also talking about them never returning.

I wonder if part of it is they've underestimated how important part of the rewilding process zoology is.

They should have had vivariums of as many local varieties as reasonable along with every other type of breeding program. I know 10k species etc, but giving a jump start to an area with trees is missing the point that they are one part of the ecology.

Sizzler ,

It's one of those self-perpetuating behaviours. The more you spend time in the garden improving plantlife, the more animals you see especially on the microscopic level, the greater your interest. Good fun.

Sizzler ,

Interesting I'm wondering if you creating a juicy yard of the snackiest grass isn't redrawing in the dear and a more diverse garden would reduce that? No idea.

Also if you're not fenced in, it's the deers yard really and you just get to enjoy it with them 😉

Seinfeld slams woke student audiences: “Back when I dated high school girls, they found me hilarious!” ( www.thebeaverton.com )

HOLLYWOOD – With his Netflix comedy film Unfrosted debuting to abysmal reviews, 70-year-old comedian Jerry Seinfeld blames the failure on “extreme left, and PC college campus audiences”, unlike in his heyday, when the teenage girls he dated were fans of his comedy.

Sizzler ,

IT Crowd had a live audience. The laughter is real.

Sizzler ,

I know it's salt(s) removal in desalination. Sodiums gotta be in there. This is an exciting battery development(finally), surely?

Sizzler ,

I set em up, CosmicTurtle0 knocks em down.

Sizzler ,

People drastically underestimate the strength of steel, especially when woven like in this case. Those will hold tonnes of weight with no flex.

Sizzler ,

There is no flex in the cables, they are under tension. The material inbetween holding the plants? I'd make that rigid too, even if designed to look like fabric but I can't specifically see soil so these could be hydroponic rockwool (much lighter) watered by an autosystem or a chap with a portable water bowser. Could use fabric then and let excess water drip through for ten mins once a day.

Sizzler ,

You do realise this is the stuff they build suspension bridges with?

Sizzler ,

End of silicon age and the start of the quantum age.

Sizzler , (edited )

It's thin layer of cardboard, plastic and metal glued together. Burn and reclaim the metal maybe but as a County Council Recycling Officer in a previous position, I honestly hate how they've avoided the spotlight. Plain plastic bottles are better than them. It's all PR and soon enough the truth will out.

Sizzler , (edited )

By my own guesstimate 95% of tetra ends up in the bin. There is something funky going in.

Found this (Indonesia)

I noticed that they are trialing replacing the aluminium with a wood chip so they clearly know the writings on the wall.
