Frontal view of a horse makes the eyes look goofy and the teeth look terrifying. Also, the title got Chariots of Fire stuck in my head.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to post this about why the peach became a gay symbol:

Tldr a dude took a bite of a peach and it was so good he wanted his lover to taste it, too.

Does this have anything to do with new homes being built way out in the middle of nowhere while everybody wants to live close to things?

So that's why pornographs have all that bass.

Minimalism is for the rich who can afford to not have something on hand, to get rid of things arbitrarily, to spend a bunch of money upfront for niche items that fill multiple roles, etc.

Article has a link to the actual report. Surprisingly California is below average in consumption while South Carolina is furiously trying to make up for it and then some.

Wasn't sure if directly linking pornhub was acceptable here or not. Thank you for doing so.

A Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster Is Confirmed And In Development | Retro Gaming News 24/7 ( www.retronews.com )

Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier has confirmed that a Final Fantasy Tactics remaster is indeed in development. This confirmation comes after speculation surrounding the credibility of frequent Atlus news leaker Midori, who recently admitted to adopting an online persona....

Foam earplugs if you're headed to a noisy area. I know too many people that have damaged their hearing by not protecting it at concerts and other venues with amplified sounds.

zero_spelled_with_an_ecks ,

What? Can you try typing that again in all caps? I went to a text concert last night.

zero_spelled_with_an_ecks ,

Agreed. I have some that just turn the volume down and I keep them on my keychain. It also helps me a lot when there's background noise to pick out conversation. After the first part of the pandemic, it seemed like everybody had been yelling on their zoom calls and it helped with that as well until either they adjusted back to IRL volume or I readjusted to it.

Trying to get my thoughts straight on the core fantasy of each dnd class

Edit: It seems I never spelled out what my issue with 5e was. My grievance is that as a player the game doesn't empower me to do what I feel is the core fantasy of most classes. I can't fault the DMs for forgetting to include spell scrolls as loot or not do overland travel or whatever, they are small easy-to-forget things. It...

zero_spelled_with_an_ecks ,

The mechanics in d&d are mostly about combat and skill checks because as a player you get to decide how you behave and the mechanics are there to have a framework for that. If players aren't acting like you want them to as a DM and you feel like it's a good idea to enforce your desires through changing the mechanics, you're going to disappoint yourself and frustrate your players. If you want a certain style of role playing, that's something you can discuss with players, but it's ultimately collaborative as opposed to enforceable.

zero_spelled_with_an_ecks ,

Ah, typically it's DMs that alter mechanics and approve homebrew. If I were running a campaign, and I had a player saying "I want to change the rules so you have to run the game a certain way," it would be a huge red flag.

If a player wants to play in a certain way, it's not usually the mechanics that prevents them. Your example where you picked a ranger that didn't fit what was going on in the campaign, that seems like a failure of communication. The DM allowed you to think wearing a snorkel in the desert was a good idea. I don't think having a class with snorkel AND fins would have helped in the desert and I don't think the fins would have forced the DM to put a river in to suit the diver class. I don't think it's unreasonable or unpleasant for the DM to say: this is a dessert campaign, you're not going to want a 60 pound tank on your back for this even though it's very helpful in a situation where you're trying not to drown.

I don't think restricting what can be done or changing mechanics would make that DM any better or make communication any less necessary or force the DM to make changes to the campaign.

Again, it's best when collaborative and avoiding unpleasant conversations leads to just as many problems in d&d as it does in any relationship. Rules aren't going to help if there's not communication.

Around where I'm at, you have to have cleared the intersection by the time it turns red or you are considered to have run a red light. Might have been made that way to suit camera use.

It's not a weird movie starring Parker Posey, Josh Hamilton, Tori Spelling, and Freddie Prinze Jr. involving themes of incest and reenacting the assassination of JFK as foreplay, but it has the same name, so maybe don't take your sister there especially if she's into pillbox hats or convertibles.

Do you enjoy doing it? If so, who cares if you're good. If not, why are you doing something you don't enjoy?

zero_spelled_with_an_ecks ,

My experiences are usually either secondhand or from assholes who assume I'm safe to be racist around.

My Korean partner and I were traveling and met a business associate of hers who happened to live in the area. The associate brought her fiance. The fiance managed to complain about immigrants 3 times within the first ten minutes. I felt like I couldn't make a scene because it might impact my partner's work life so I just did my best to make it obvious that was not a welcome topic and then freeze him out of the conversation. He didn't pick up on it, either because he is an idiot or an asshole, probably both. This was in rural Colorado.

My partner has also gotten pulled over several times driving through Texas for being the wrong color. Instead of being able to remain in her vehicle, she was told she had to sit in the back of the police vehicle while they ran her plates or whatever excuse they had.

And there's always the "Where are you from? No, I mean where are you from?" questions.

The fetishizing of Asians also gets pretty gross, but I'd rather leave that one to the imagination.

She is adopted and has a white family that are Trump supporters. She gets used by them to say they couldn't possibly be racist, like that guy who has a black friend. Meanwhile, they call an apartment complex that has a lot of minorities living in it "the zoo." They also claim to be colorblind, which really made them dismissive to the issues my partner faced growing up in a predominately white town as well as more recent problems like the wave of anti Asian sentiment during around covid. Any disagreement with the family is an attack on them, so there's no hope there.

Her name is also very white sounding. People can get surprised if they've spoken to her via phone or online and then get introduced to her in real life.

Racism can be subtle. Thankfully my partner's found good, supportive spaces as well.

Adoption in general is a complicated issue. My family adopted a boy from South America after I had left the nest. That always gave me "white man's burden" vibes.

Both of the guards have a handle. If the guard that always lies pulls his handle, then the minecart will divert to the second track. If both guards pull their handle, the prisoners will be released. One of the handles is covered by a wooden box, where half of the wooden planks of the original box have been replaced by new ones...
