@MattMerk @Herman this article is why I knew in the early days of Windows (3.11) that I have to store all my data on open file formats.

Luckily thanks to Microsoft installing another Basic language that was not compatible the old version years earlier.

This is what every Microsoft user should be aware of.

BTW... Last year I bought a phone that later can run on another OS for the same reason. Alternative OSs are a bit 'to young' for me now, but that will change.

When you meet someone in real life who is on X, who does not understand the value of switching to Mastodon, I recommend telling them that unlike X…

  1. Mastodon is both free and ad free for all users

  2. Everyone gets the same set of features, so editing typos or writing longer posts is not reserved for the rich kids.

  3. There is no algorithm, so everyone's content spreads if we the users decide it is great content.

Die drukte bij Mastodon he? Is het jullie ook opgevallen dat het zeker de laatste weken bijna dagelijk veel drukker is dan normaal?
Het 'nieuwe normaal' lijkt wel twee keer zo druk als een paar maanden geleden.

(ik ga dan af op het aantal notificaties per dag. Die reset ik elke dag, waardoor een zeker gemiddelde zichtbaar wordt over langere tijd)

    @pluralistic @lisamelton thw most funny error Google makes is that on specific searches for goods it blocked the website were I usually ordered those goods. (what Google should know as it also advertised itself with Google)

    To absolutely no one’s surprise, Trump’s USD 175 million bond payment is a fraud too.

    In New York, a company which offers a bond, cannot offer a bond worth more than 10 percent of the company’s own value, and Knight Specialty Insurance does not live up to that requirement — in fact, if the company ends up having to pay the bond, the bond is worth more than the company, meaning they would not be able to pay.

    Trump now has 10 days to come up with a new solution.
