We (the , , etc) should build a "everything you need to know" .

Like a federated multimedia/e-learning Wikipedia with lessons and resources for the topics of day-to-day life we might take for granted, but which are obstacles for the newcomer.

"How do I navigate the transit system in Fredericton, New Brunswick?" or

"How to shave?" or

"How to do income taxes/get ID/vote/find non-profits in [insert territory]?"

Without looking it up what is closest to 8oz?

(Curious how well the relation between oz and metric is generally known.)

I feel like most Canucks have an advantage here - we've been using both measuring systems since the 60's. While we're officially metric, the majority of people measure certain things in imperial:

    • Body weight (in lbs instead of kilos)
    • Body height (in feet/inches)
    • Drugs (this is weirdly interchangable. We'll sell by the gram up to 28, then it's an ounce)
    • Cooking (again, just a potpourri of sae/metric)

Billy Bragg was awesome last night. Not once but twice, he gave a shout outs for trans rights, worker solidarity. Entire set was political songs. And he'll be great again tonight, with John Doe. And today, in just a few hours I'll be reading with him. If you're in Vegas today, be sure to stop by avantpop books at noon. Place should be hopping!

/ Settlers looted and desecrated food intended for Gaza in front of soldiers, peace activists were attacked, and two trucks were set on fire

Dozens of settlers and far-right Israelis looted yesterday the humanitarian aid trucks making their way to the Strip through the Tarqumiya crossing near Hebron. The humanitarian aid was blocked at two points in the area south and west of Hebron Hill - near the Tarqumiya checkpoint and near the Negohot settlement. After being blocked and looted, two trucks were set on fire near the Tarqumiya checkpoint.

B'Tselem stated that the looting continued for hours, "in front of soldiers and police officers, as well as security personnel at the crossing, who did not lift a finger to stop the desecration of food. This conduct by the Israeli authorities grossly violates the interim orders of the International Court of Justice, which demanded that Israel allow the supply of humanitarian aid to Gaza."

A billionaire has been secretly buying up large swaths of land in order to build a private golf resort in the beautiful community of St. Martin's, which for hundreds of years has been a tiny coastal middle class village. It's also at the foot of the breathtaking , one of the 50 toughest hikes in the world.

People here don't even realise this is happening yet. They probably won't get mad until it's already long done.

For those who are bitching about President Biden and saying the Gaza situation will cost him the election, WTF do you propose?! Third party has ZERO chance! Have you learned anything from 2016?!?!?! The Orange shit stain suggests that Netanayu "finish the job!". How dare anyone say they or both sides are the same. If that's your belief, unfollow me now!!!

The "anti-biden" thing is simply real people's real response to the actions and words Biden himself has said and done.

Regular, real citizens of the earth see and hear him. We make up our own minds. We decide that fascism and racism are not qualities we want in a world leader.

What people want is for the democratic party to run a candidate that is not a corporate stool, nor a fascist, nor racist, etc. They want a real option for progressive change. They want the status quo that has ravaged this planet to end. Biden is a staunch supporter of that status quo, as well as actively bombing and starving captive civilians.

I'm not an American. I'm a "regular" free-thinking citizen of Canada, where we have our own problems with status quo and racism.

You can call me a Russian spy if you want, but that has nothing to do with reality - you know, the one where Biden is pumping cash into a genocide, AND beefing up the police state in order to combat YOUR OWN CHILDREN, and eventually YOU.

We sure as fuck don't want trump's or poilievre's. We want a leader that isn't down with racism, genocide, and selling out the 99% - and Biden is far from that leader.

Ask yourselves why it's Biden running and not Sanders.

    I hope this helps.

But Biden is somehow not fascist? Sure. Just like when the entire world including his entire staff told him to call a ceasefire and instead he sent billions of dollars worth of bombs and weapons.

But yeah, go ahead and ignore all the evidence. Ignore and excuse his actions. Pretend you really believe you're doing the right thing. You will still be soaked in blood you will NEVER get off.
