Americans’ embrace of & acceptance of gay Americans has been one of the steadiest trends in recent political history, w/support for rising from <30% in the mid-1990s to ~70% today.…
But there’s increasing evidence that these gains have halted & even reversed, largely thanks to moving in the opposite direction — in some cases, sharply.

@Nonilex I wonder how this breaks down? I imagine there are Republicans who are becoming more bigoted, however it could also be that formerly sane Republican no longer identify as Republicans now that it has become the maga party, so only the more bigoted ones are left.

@Nonilex From those adversaries who were found to be telling the truth, while Trump was found to have lied. I feel like that is all somehow bound up in being found to be guilty in a court of law. Many people with tears in their eyes come up to him and say it is consequences, something that nobody knew existed.

@CelloMomOnCars It boggles my mind that the US is torn down the middle trying to decide if it'll elect a competent President, who understands and works to resolve actual issues the US is facing or an incompetent malicious criminal President. Did I mention, fraudster, sexual assaulter, smelly narcissist who can hardly read, is in the pocket of Russia, lead a violent insurrection and cheats at golf? You go USA! Parched farms, cancelled classes: Extreme heat scorches South-East Asia

@CelloMomOnCars It's a real indictment upon our culture that big business has been so successful in spreading doubt about climate change when we are so awash with evidence. Not a wonder that the lies of Putin & Trump so easily take hold. The currency of good will and common sense has been devalued in the marketplace.
