Hell, with the current times "someone" could offer her a pardon for doing it.....

At least it's a short ride, with how close they are already.

Old man in politics that doesn't say fuck the constitution performs better against old man that says fuck the constitution than younger woman who hates progress.

Yup. Not having to work all day every day so you don't starve and have a "safe" place to sleep, would allow one to do all these things.

DeSantis orders Florida National, State Guard members to Texas border ( www.orlandosentinel.com )

Gov. Ron DeSantis said Thursday he is sending National and Florida State Guard troops to Texas to help that state put up razor wire fences on the southern border, a move in apparent defiance of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision on the contentious immigration issue....

ironhydroxide ,

Damn, no wonder I have a drinking problem.

ironhydroxide ,

Of course he can. He just can't say it's to help him get reelected.
Smartest thing for him to do right now is spin up another set of "ai" nft images for his fan base to buy, to "help with the prosecution" he is suffering.

ironhydroxide ,

You sure that's how it works?
I thought Alex Jones appealed his judgement. And definitely didn't have 1.5Billion to just pay the court with.

Thanks for explaining.

"oh shay can you see..... see they're all against us, and we're going to show them. By the dawns...... I knew a woman named dawn... Great woman, gorgeous like Ivanka....... Uhh... Light. What do proudly..... We are a proud people and we won't stand for their tricks, their cheats. We hail.... you know Hitler was hailed as a great guy. Amazing person, did great things."

Probably the only reason he kept coming back to the right lyrics.

ironhydroxide ,

I guess so. Asshole got it backwards.

ironhydroxide ,

You know, if their response is to boycott anything that's woke, I say we make pretty much everything woke. Would make for a better world without assholes telling other people how they should live.

Tennessee Republican files 'abortion trafficking' bill for pregnant minors ( www.tennessean.com )

A Tennessee Republican hopes to establish an "abortion trafficking" felony for adults who help pregnant minors get an out-of-state abortion without parental permission, an effort reproductive health advocates argue will run afoul of constitutional rights such as interstate travel....

From how I read the comment above yours, it doesn't imply the civil war wasn't about slavery.

ironhydroxide ,

I guess it's in how you read it.
I don't read it as such.
Edit: maybe it's because I take the entire comment into consideration instead of just one line in the entire comment.

Who believes ‘fake news’? Regardless of age and politics, people who endorse lies are aware they could be made up, research says ( news.northeastern.edu )

Northeastern researchers say that when confronted with “fake news,” Republicans and younger people are more likely to say they believe the false headlines than Democrats and older people....

Design problem of the Tesla, it allows one to discharge to a point where battery damage can occur. My volt, and my 500e will not allow such. They did this to be able to claim more range without having to increase battery capacity.

And even gasoline vehicles can be damaged by running the tank too low/out.
Fuel pump overheat and strainer clogging is a very real thing when the tank is too low.
Diesels can damage their lift and high pressure pumps when run empty.

ironhydroxide ,

I find it funny you didn't point out that if you can plug in a block heater, you can plug in the ev.

But yes, ev usually have better heaters, though they use the battery for that unless they're plugged into a large enough charger to offset that energy drain.

ironhydroxide ,

I disagree about them being "not suitable", there are plenty of people who don't have problems with them.

Electric cars are still in their early stages, where it's not common knowledge how they work and what one needs to do to prevent the worst issues.

I'd bet there's plenty of instances where similar issues happened with gas cars in their infancy. People didn't change the oil, or didn't maintain properly and the car was essentially junk because of it.

I think that most of the people who got stuck at the charging stations was because they didn't actually turn off the car, they ran it dead with the cabin heat, then left it with sentry mode and cabin temp protection on. Along with the fact that they didn't know or didn't have a level 2 station to go to instead of insisting on level 3.

Is this a problem? Of course it is, but it's not a problem for other manufacturers who have safeties in their software, or people who own Tesla's who understand how the Tesla operates.

Do we need more charging stations? Yes, though we also need people either be taught, or learn, more about their vehicle and it's operation. This goes for any vehicle, not just EV.

Something that is likely to lie to you has better bedside manner..... of course it does, if it doesn't have an answer it'll make one up.

In this era of late stage capitalism, the only changes that will be made from this data will be changes that make the company more profit. Not necessarily changes that make the device more reliable, durable, or have a greater longevity.

ironhydroxide ,

I'd fully support this proposition. And if the companies can't cough up, then nationalize them, fill those hotels with the homeless. Would do more good for the country than anything that man has done in his entire life.

ironhydroxide ,

Damn, that's some rough torture..... fitting

ironhydroxide ,

Technically they have gears, but not as you normally think of gears.

In my opinion, Partially it's an electric vehicle thing (lots of torque) and partially it's a software thing (wheel slip and torque control algorithms)
The suspension design and tire size choice could affect this as well, but not as much in my opinion as the previous points.

My fiat 500e is worth ~$5k.

Simple car, minimal extra features when compared with new. And as of this year a decade old.

I Love it, never had issues with it, and since I bought it 5 years ago has saved me it's current value in not buying gas alone, not including oil changes, brakes, etc.

I'm not saying ev is for everyone right now and I agree the current ev available new don't seem to be likely to be good used cars.
Just that this one seems to be one that doesn't fit a lot of your complaints.

ironhydroxide ,

I think you misunderstood me. I have the gen1 500e. Not the facelift model. Mine is a 2013 model year.

They were sold in California and Washington almost exclusively.

China spent over $5.5 million at Trump properties while he was in office, documents show ( www.cnn.com )

The Chinese government and its state-controlled entities spent over $5.5 million at properties owned by Donald Trump while he was in office, the largest total of payments made by any single foreign country known to date, according to financial documents cited in a report from House Democrats released Thursday....

ironhydroxide ,

As much as I find this appalling, I'm hesitant to believe the narrative provided. Everything I've read only claims a value while he was president, but does not say what those same entities got in years he wasn't president.

If they got the same amount before he was president, then this is just rage bait.
If data shows they gained significantly more during (and possibly after) presidency, then the rage is more justified.
