Hearing on new evidence in #Trump #ElectionInterference #HushMoney case

NY Supreme Court #Justice Juan #Merchan began a hearing this morning about a late release of more than 100k pages of potential evidence in Trump’s #trial over 2016 election hush money payments. A key question is whether he’ll set a new trial date, after delaying #jury selection until at least mid-April.

My discipline, anthropology, is not seen as "growth" disciplines, and departments are being closed down. But the world needs Anthropology and Anthropologists now more than ever!

Here are my 8 reasons for this:

Reading slump. I feel a little burnt out and generally reading a book helps with it, but lately I don’t seem to finish any book that start. Most of these books are quite good tbh but they take up a lot of mental energy and that makes it harder to read. :(

Welp that house showing fell flat. A family (would have paid all cash) .. husband with Parkinson’s. They need a downstairs main bedroom. We have that, and an upstairs one. They knew we have a 2 story house. Rejected because… there are stairs. Go figure.

Tomorrow is our 1st open house so we have to leave for 3+ hours. I won’t be online much, but Hammy gets a day at the beach!

🇨🇦 Monday, MPs will vote on a motion in support of Palestine, to stop the sale of Cdn arms to the Israeli military, recognize Palestinian statehood, & help bring an end to the Israeli govt’s assault on civilian life.

It will be the first opportunity for MPs to vote on Gaza as individuals – rather than towing the party line. If we can flood them with emails calling on them to support the motion, it could happen.

I appreciate that MSNBC folks usually attach receipts when they say it, ex:
▪ "He attempted ... as congress found in his first impeachment hearing," or
▪ they run a video clip or show a social post with TFG's own words.

Always bring the receipts :-)

    I think most people would object to forcing women to wear skirts. Beating up girls who do unladylike things like dancing or calculus. Many can even see how silly it is to tease a boy for enjoying painting more than sports.

    Most* get this.

    What I don't understand is how it isn't obvious that transphobia is the exact same impulse.

    There is no "reasonable" amount of transphobia you can tolerate without also supporting rigid harmful gender norms in general. 1/
