The City of Calgary has issued a critical water supply alert.

A water main break along 16 Avenue NW has impacted the city's water supply. Supply levels have reached a critical state, affecting the city's ability to provide water to communities and ensure adequate water is available to support emergency fire suppression.

All residents and businesses must conserve water. Do not shower or bath. Do not wash dishes, or run appliances that use water.

Had an incredible weekend of singing with @chronosvocalensemble. We sang for around 23 hours over Saturday and Sunday with a sold-out show in Calgary on Saturday and another in Edmonton on Sunday.
Felt something pop in my throat on Saturday during Eric Whitacre's Alleluia.

As @chronosvocalensemble's 10th season came to a close, David Dykstra, tenor, took the opportunity to hijack the encore with St. Albert composer, Trent Worthington's Flunky Jim.

So great to collaborate on this concert with Calgary's Spiritus Chamber Choir!

Proud to have closed out my 9th season and am looking forward to what is going to be a huge fall. I'm looking forward to a few months off after seven performances just in this calendar year.

Today is International Women's Day and I'm reflecting on the growing misogyny, transphobia, and legislative attacks on women. Our generation is the first to not only see rights halted but in many places rolled back.

Whether you live in rural Alberta and need to drive literally hours to deliver your baby, a trans woman needing gender-affirming care, or a woman needing to access birth control.

The fight for equality is not over.

I just donated to Tony Silvestri's recovery fund as he recovers from Guillain-Barre Syndrome. Tony is really close to his US$50,000 goal to help cover his crazy American medical costs and is a genuinely wonderful human being.

He wrote the poetry to some of my favourite choral works, like Ola Gjeilo's "Across the Vast, Eternal Sky", "Luminous Night of the Soul", and Eric Whitacre's "The Sacred Veil", "Sleep", and "Lux Aurumque".

It's been one year since my high school music teacher succumbed to dementia. This is one of his favourite pieces to perform. He shaped my musical career. Rest in peace Mr. Sweet.

Certainly left the absolute best performance of my choir's history on the stage tonight, celebrating ten years of the choir's existence and nine years of my participation.

It featured a world premiere of a Canadian composer's first-ever musical setting of Victoria, BC's Poet Laureate John Barton's work.

So incredibly proud of what @chronosvocalensemble accomplished tonight.
