Tesla is recalling its Cybertruck for the fourth time to fix problems with trim pieces that can come loose and front windshield wipers that can fail | The new recalls each affect over 11,000 trucks ( apnews.com )

The company says in the documents that the front windshield wiper motor controller can stop working because it’s getting too much electrical current. A wiper that fails can cut visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. The Austin, Texas, company says it knows of no crashes or injuries caused by the problem....

Hmm, at least they are not prone to rusting.

Colorado’s Bold New Approach to Highways — Not Building Them | The state has made it harder to widen highways, and transportation officials are turning their eyes to transit. ( www.nytimes.com )

In Colorado, that new vision was catalyzed by climate change. In 2019, Gov. Jared Polis signed a law that required the state to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 90 percent within 30 years. As the state tried to figure out how it would get there, it zeroed in on drivers. Transportation is the largest single contributor to...

Grew up in Boulder.

Still hoping for a train from the airport within my lifetime.

I think OP was referring to HGVs and not pickups.

Dog on the table, wtf!?

Nice painting though.

Seems over-complicated…

I could imagine an autonomous, on-demand rural train service. Due to the low expected traffic, it seems like you could just build some additional sidings and use a more conventional design.

I find Lemmy is better with fewer users just like Reddit used to be.

I kinda miss a few subs but they’ve been replaced by new things I discovered here.

The websites can coexist and users can do as we please.

The apartment we bought came with an old 18” dishwasher.

We run it daily with two adults and it works great. Even though you need to run it more often, it’s takes less time to empty than a full size.

For our current layout it makes a lot of sense but would want a full size if the family grows.

If I was single I would prefer the smaller format. I find it kinda nasty to have my dirty dishes standing for many days.

Seems like a headline out of 2008 🤔

What non-FOSS software have you been unable to quit?

For me, Google video search, Google books (Internet Archive is good, but doesn't always have the same stuff), Adobe InDesign (but in the process of learning LaTeX), and Typewise. As for the Google stuff, I liked Whoogle a lot, but almost all their instances seem to have been blocked or shut down. Also, apologies if this is...

Rhino for CAD.

However, I have been using OpenSCAD for parametric design more than the Grasshopper extension.

Thankfully, skipped ArcGIS entirely for QGIS and Python GDAL wrappers.

In my city, personal/community gardens are a haven for bees and insects. However, there is a lot to be gained with scale if done responsibly.

There are some great suggestions here but I wouldn’t sweat it too much, this looks pretty average for 20 yo.

I can recommend trying different layouts from time to time. You can always change it back and it helps keep things fresh (also mentally).

If you want a step up in responsibility then get an easy plant that’s suited for the light from the window.

Wow, wasn’t expecting such a feel-good AI story.

I wonder if I could fuck with my ISOs chatbot 🤔

If you want to get started with databases, the file-based SQLite is awesome!

I play mostly single player indie games and feel like it’s great value for the money. In a ome games I have over 1000 hours playtime for 20-50 bucks.

There’s plenty, but there’s toxicity to be found on every platform. I interpret this as people being mad that Trump was unbanned, or maybe some other ideological issue that mainstream Liberals have.

I think the bigger problem with twitter is that the bots have taken over and the content continues to spiral the drain (but again, happens on plenty of platforms).

Am I the only one who was expecting a backwards compatible Category 5e?

St Pancreas crowding has already been shitty, can’t believe they want to make it worse on purpose. These blokes are really brilliant…

Another day, another service joins the Google Graveyard.

Google's Business Profiles had a feature that allowed sole traders and small businesses to quickly and easily set up a simple website.

Sure, it's not WordPress, but it was a good option for less tech savvy small businesses to get a web presence up quickly and easily.

And, as part of Google's ongoing enshittification, it's going: https://support.google.com/business/answer/14368911?hl=en&ref_topic=7032534&sjid=14999411477128650858-AP

"Websites made with Google Business Profiles are basic websites powered by the information on your Business Profile. In March 2024, websites made with Google Business Profiles will be turned off and customers visiting your site will be redirected to your Business Profile instead. The redirect will work until June 10, 2024."
