So interesting thing about tazers, they only paralyze muscle that is in between the propes during the tazer cycle. That's why the little probes spread out the further they get from the tazer. See how close those wires are? That means he is extremely close and there is no immobilization happening it's just causing pain. The range is far too close to be effective even if the use were justified.

Well when you arn't sure if the encounter is balanced from the beginning and the dragons breath would tpk in one hit its kinda better to turn the cone into a line and half the damage so you only have one player down.

Ok so the cult is going to kill them right? Cults kill stuff by sacrificing it to whatever they worship.

Lets also say they do it on the night of a full moon or something so everyone including the villagers knows when it happens.

Let the one dude rally the mob while you have the captured characters make some skill checks to free/arm themselves before the big sacrifice.

Guy with the mob arrives just in time because every villager told him when to show up.
Mob busts in Players bust out.

Boom boss fight.
You could even make a big bad out of a half summoned evil cult deity. Say the portal didn't open big enough and only shadowy hands are coming through. These could grapple players and drag them toward the summon portal. Small damage if they actually hit the portal and plenty of chances to get away but it creates tension while they try to kill the summoner. Plus you don't need equipment for the athletics checks.

Yeah but I wasn't for a long time. There was a spiderman cartoon where mary jane was targeted for murder because her name was in a database of organ donors and the villain needed her organs for his wife or something. scared the shit out of me when I was a kid and I had a knee jerk reaction when filling out the form I never really thought about. someone had to directly ask me before I realized I had based this decision on a cartoon I saw when I was 5.

There were so many opportunities to pit at low speed, even given the traffic density. especially in that last intersection. Instead this chuckle fuck decides to do it on the goddamn highway at killing speed. His only saving grace is that he is so bad at this that he turned into the pit instead of pulling through it rolling his squad car instead of the van. He could have killed everyone inside if that van rolled.
