Okay, this is possibly going to be controversial in some quarters, but it has to be said for the good of the Fediverse:

Mastodon.social is not a good way to join Mastodon. If you're already on mastodon.social, you might want to move your account to another server. I've done an article about this topic at:

➡️ https://fedi.tips/its-a-really-bad-idea-to-join-a-big-server

If you want to move your account, there's a complete step-by-step guide to how to do it here:

@FediTips thank you!
Switching servers might be required to maintain fidelity to the fedi 🙂

Via Scott MacFarlane:

No Supreme Court ruling today on Trump “presidential immunity”

For 141 days, the criminal docket has remained frozen in the DC criminal case

It’s 131 days til election. The Supreme Court review has cost prosecutors more than half of available pre-election time for trial

The second and FINAL opinion today: Snyder v. US. Written by Justice Kavanaugh. The vote is 6-3. Jackson dissents, joined by Sotomayor and Kagan.

Geidner:

The final SCOTUS decision today is Snyder v. US. Kavanaugh has the court's 6-3 decision on ideological grounds, holding that the Section 666 bribery statute does not apply to "gratuities" given for public officials' past acts. Jackson writes the liberals' dissent.

@GottaLaff I’m not too easily triggered. The right seems to think they can change meanings of common words like “opinion” or “fact” and we all have to accept it.
That triggers me.

Bannon could have shown up and pleaded the Fifth Amendment with his middle fingers flying. But he wants to go to jail for doing what he loves most, ignoring the Constitution.

RiaResists ,
@RiaResists@mastodon.social avatar

@lolgop in Bannon’s (🤢) case he would plead the filth amendment.
Bucket of scum that he is.

I should update those who have been kind enough to ask:

I’m finally all better! As of yesterday, I felt like my old self again.

We move into the new townhouse in Aug. We gave the sellers time to find a place to live, so we have to wait.

My car arrived yesterday! While Mr. Laffy was picking it up at the Canadian border, a drug bust took place within feet of him. Dogs sniffed out the culprit, and Mr. Laffy also got…sniffed!

We have no charger here. 24 hours later, my car is still plugged in

@GottaLaff thank goodness you’re feeling better!
What a time to get sick.
And what an exciting time for you & yours!
Have a good day, Laffy 🙂

@GottaLaff yeah some kind of (doesn’t seem to be Covid) nasty bug is making its rounds again.
So happy you’re on the mend!
I know there’s lots to do 🙂

In 1869 it was decided to have 9 Supreme Court justices because there were 9 Circuit Courts.

Now there are 13 Circuit Courts. So what exactly are we waiting for?

We need to do this in the US.

“Tens of thousands of demonstrators crowded onto French streets on Saturday to denounce the rise of the country’s far-right political party and call on fellow citizens to block it from taking power in snap parliamentary elections set by President Emmanuel Macron.” #France

@GottaLaff we really do.
Of course in this country we have to worry about our who are armed to the teeth & not above running people over.
We really should be in the streets.

ICYMI: I wrote about the responses to the Trump verdict – an alarming reminder of the politics of revenge that defines the American Right today.

They are out for bloody retaliation, all dressed up as “patriotism.”
