It's the most popular bands from each country, not the most popular bands in each country. So Maiden could have only been in the UK and Sabbath beat them out.

PapaStevesy ,

They very well might be, but they're not from Brazil or the rest of South America, so it's irrelevant.

PapaStevesy ,

My favorite part: Exempt ID# 123456789

That oughta do it!

PapaStevesy ,

Yeah, you just have to survive it the first time.

PapaStevesy ,

I still think of that pig every time I get a hangover.

PapaStevesy ,

Wtf is that face supposed to be? Looks like a dick & balls.

PapaStevesy ,

Chips (crisps for you incorrect non-Americans), followed by mashed

PapaStevesy ,

Might as well finish the twice baked process, you're 90% of the way there! They're better anyway...

PapaStevesy ,

Chips—Australian for chips.

PapaStevesy ,

Though incoherent, your comment does point to a major cause of conservative voters constantly voting against their own interests: reading comprehension & general education.

PapaStevesy ,

Why does the fuel pump need to know what date it is?

PapaStevesy ,

Yeah, it's extremely performative and, from the outside, very occult. Of course they would rage at that idea, which makes it even more idiotic.

PapaStevesy ,

Yeah, the Bible also says to love your neighbor and give your excess wealth to the needy, these people are well past scripture-based arguments.

PapaStevesy ,

I mean, I guarantee Trump thinks it is, and his supporters have been saying he was Chosen by God for years now. It's close enough for me.

Literally, if you say you're a Christian and you support Trump, you care more about Trump than Jesus. Give me all the No-True-Scotsman bs you want, it's objectively accurate according to their own holy texts.

PapaStevesy ,

Do they have social security numbers? Can the hospital claim them as dependents? Can an eighteen-year-old embryo vote?

PapaStevesy ,

Look, trap and mumblecore are terrible, I'll give you that, but I really don't think that's a more serious issue then universal healthcare...

PapaStevesy ,

No, did you?

PapaStevesy ,

I was actually just making a joke based on the other person's phrasing, it definitely wasn't racist, quasi- or otherwise. Terrible musicians come in every color and creed!

PapaStevesy ,

Ok lol I believe you

PapaStevesy ,

Four things that they don’t have the votes for, so how dare them try to fix something else that has serious issues

It was a joke based on the fact that it sounds like hip hop is the "something else" that has serious issues. You know, the ol' lemmy switcheroo (I don't have anything to link this to, sorry). It's also based on the opinion (mine) that a lot of modern rap music is really bland and unimaginative.

PapaStevesy ,

Well no, of course it doesn't work in context, the whole joke was about ignoring the context.

Yeah, it's all very unimportant, lol. I guess I need to utilize the /s more here on Lemmy, people just really aren't expecting jokes here, haha

PapaStevesy ,

Then they should call it something else.

/s in case you really still don't get it

PapaStevesy ,

That's what "integrated" means.

PapaStevesy ,

I fail to see how changing it to "racially diverse" fixes any of these issues. In fact, it's impossible to define "integration" in this context without bringing up segregation and the systemic racism that wrought it, I'd argue your phrasing is much more euphemistic.

PapaStevesy ,

I believe it's scraping the tines of a fine comb so they make a weird metallic sound that sometimes makes cats gag.

We've already blown past critical 1.5 C climate threshold, sea sponge study claims. Should we believe it? ( www.livescience.com )

A controversial new study claims we may breach the 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit) climate change increase threshold by the late 2020s — almost two decades earlier than current projections....

PapaStevesy ,

I don't believe anything a sea sponge tells me

PapaStevesy ,

You're a sea sponge, aren't you? Nice try, sea sponge

PapaStevesy ,

And op's out here trying to pretend like they can write their own scientific studies!? What a buncha bs

PapaStevesy ,

Hahaha, the subpoena is literally meaningless thanks to the GOP, good luck with that shit

“I really do believe in IQ science”: Laura Loomer, Trump ally floated for a potential White House position, goes on wildly racist rant against Rep. Ilhan Omar ( www.mediamatters.org )

Only months after Donald Trump Jr. floated Laura Loomer as a White House press secretary, Loomer used her platform on Rumble to launch into a half-hour long racist screed against Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Somalians living in America, birthright citizenship, and Muslims. Loomer begun the show by referring to Rep. Omar as a "black...

PapaStevesy ,

I live in Omar's district and I can tell you first hand, it's possibly the most gentrified district in the state. If there's anything wrong with the it, it's us white people.

Texas’ Border Stunt Is Based on the Same Legal Theory Confederate States Used to Secede ( www.thedailybeast.com )

A clash between Texas and the Biden administration over who controls the Texas-Mexico border continues to escalate this week as federal officials once again demanded the state give Border Patrol agents access to a park that is a popular corridor for migrants to enter the United States illegally....

PapaStevesy ,

Abbott’s accusation that the federal government has breached the Constitution by having “broken the compact between the United States and the States” is almost identical to South Carolina’s 1860 declaration of secession.Furthermore, Abbott’s letter espouses the fringe theory of constitutional law known as “compact theory,” popularized by Confederate states during the Civil War era and supported by Confederate President Jefferson Davis

Sounds pretty accurate to me.

PapaStevesy ,

Is it just a coincidence that Rasputin is basically the most famous song by someone else on this list?

Closing toilet lid before flushing doesn't keep viral spray inside, study suggests ( www.cidrap.umn.edu )

Contrary to previous study findings, closing the toilet lid before flushing doesn't stop aerosolized viruses from contaminating bathroom surfaces, scientists from the University of Arizona and Reckitt Benckiser LLC, the company that makes the disinfectant used in the study, report in the American Journal of Infection Control....

PapaStevesy ,

I mean, Israel is literally right next to it, it would almost certainly make parts of their own country unlivable. Nothing they do seems to be based on logic or morality in any way though, so it's not that surprising.

PapaStevesy ,

If it's a business, why don't they pay taxes?

PapaStevesy ,

If I went around, claiming I was an emperor, cuz some moistened bint lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

PapaStevesy ,

The people that enforce them are, ironically, untrustworthy.

PapaStevesy ,

Are you talking about the meme or my comment? I really don't know what you're trying to say, sorry.

PapaStevesy ,

Ok, yeah I got that originally. Did you misconstrue my original sardonic comment or do you disagree and not know how to express it? Cuz I'm pretty sure we're on the same side here, lol.
