This is horrible. Reporting from Reuters revealed that the US military ran disinformation campaigns, including creating fake social media accounts, to sow doubt in the quality of COVID vaccines, masks, and tests produced by other countries.

@Alpha1Nine it’s no different than Trump investing in truth social and walking away with $20 billion when it IPO’ed. Yes it’s a lot of money, but he gambled/invested in the company and they rewarded him with stock. If Tesla had failed he would have had a handful of worthless paper.
Let him have his reward maybe he will buy a couple of Supreme Court judges next time.

@Strandjunker More than 2 million Allied soldiers, sailors, pilots, medics and other people from a dozen countries were involved in the overall Operation Overlord.
The USA only contributed 78,000 they weren’t even the largest contingent that was the British Commonwealth forces(Britain, Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and India to name a few)

Is there a good resource or book for learning about some of the details of how webservers work?

For example if I want an IP address on a intranet to be a webpage that people on that intranet can go to... how would I set that up from scratch. Let's say I have a machine with a static IP on the local net... (but what I really also need to understand is how a static IP is established locally, a DNS?)

Maybe the dream book or resource doesn't exist. But I ask anyway.

@futurebird Grab a copy of the Internet guide for dummies. It’s a great read and clearly explains all the concepts. Note internet/intranet use the same technology.

PM says he's calling in the Israeli Ambassador to demand a full explanation. Don't call them in Albo, kick them out. There's no way Australia should continue as a friend and ally of Israel. They are a rogue state that has a long history of disdain for the rule of law and human rights.

Zomi Frankcom, an Australian aid worker who was killed in an IDF attack in Gaza.

Australian PM Anthony Albanese says the death of an Australian aid worker in Gaza is “completely unacceptable” and “beyond any reasonable circumstances”, saying the government will call in the Israeli ambassador and contact Israel’s government.

Albanese says the government is demanding “full accountability” over the death.

    @GottaLaff Donald Trump has just told the rest of the world (Australia included) that the USA cannot be trusted. The GOP actions on Ukraine sends a shiver up my spine. Australia has been a loyal ally to the USA in WW2, Korea, Vietnam Iraq 1 and 2, Afghanistan and we have paid in blood.
