My native language is Cantonese. Our education system has English in the syllabus. I did think I was good at it, until I became REALLY good at it after consuming English YouTube videos for an amount of time.

If you use it frequently enough, you will be good at it.

Don't know if the same applies for Korean, as the Internet is a very English-centered place.

It's the basic English from school. I see you have started learning Korean for some time, so I just assumed you could. Sorry about that.

As for the content part, maybe try TV shows? Some are pretty interesting. If possible, turn on subtitles as well.

And if it's still boring, don't stress yourself out. Take breaks and do it slowly

How do you connect with people and make friends without social media?

I'm struggling to figure out how to make friends without having Instagram or any other social media. I have discord but don't use it much. I see all my acquaintances in discord channels and sharing Instagram posts and stuff. It's already hard for me to make friends, but I feel like not having any of the traditional social media...

P(A|B) means the conditional probability of event A happening if B has happened. It is defined as P(A∩B)/P(B).

The equation show is the Bayes' Rule. It shows the relationship between P(A|B) and P(B|A). This is useful in Bayesian statistics (of course why would it not be) as you change your probability distribution based on the data observed, and almost every time it's easier to find the value by swapping the events.

What tips or resources would you recommend to someone who knows about Linux and wants to self-host, but has no experience self-hosting?

I have several years of Linux experience and I know how to fix my own problems, and I have experience self-hosting using Docker and Docker Compose, but I really feel that I don't know how to self-host and that I just copy and paste commands without understanding it, I would really like to learn how to self-host by myself but I...

May not be ideal for everyone but most of the time I want to learn something, I just start doing it.

Last year, I basically had no idea about self hosting and I started off with immich. Problems started to arise, but is solvable by searching online.

I also read Lemmy a lot and sometimes from this very community I get tips (such as fail2ban)

Cantonese, English and Mandarin, ordered by confidence.

I sometimes feel special for being a Hongkonger who speaks Cantonese and writes Traditional Chinese, as they are not very common.

I feel that extremely when people think that I'm an American and accuse me of thinking "dollar" is the only currency unit in the world. (Sorry for the rant)

My uni friend used to sit on the benches outside some professors' offices. Then our uni started sticking up papers saying those seats are "reserved".

We walk past that place a good amount every week, and there's always no one.

I broke my dad's laptop by dropping it on the ground. I was pretending to work, with my parents right there.

But honestly, all the other little stuff that I broke combined probably cost more than that laptop. Recently I changed the battery of the clock and it immediately stopped working. It's like I have the hands of destruction.

My school cannot do anything on Sunday except Christian fellowship. One time there was a competition on Sunday and one of the teachers is needed to guide the students, but got denied by the school.

(Before you ask me why did I attend a Christian school, it's because other schools that are not Christian sucked academically)
