they look awesome. I don't get the hate some have for them. pure ideology

Marin_Rider ,

literally the plot of Caprica

Marin_Rider ,

it is a shame. i wished they were able to make another season but i guess just for the 2 of us it wouldnt have made much sense!

Marin_Rider ,

Lucy. I know a lot of people didn't like the ending, but the whole movie was utterly shocking I thought after she took the brain drug or whatever it was

Marin_Rider ,

I would do a lot more camping and cycling mostly. really give the bass a red hot shot. tackle my pile of plastic shame

Marin_Rider ,

convert it to $1 and $2 coins. get the best super glue I can for $12

buy a $1 bag of popcorn (go pop it at home)

glue the remaining $2 coin to the path somewhere visible and near a bench so I can watch.

sit, with popcorn, and watch people try to pick up the glued $2 coin for as long as I feel entertained

Marin_Rider ,

and in 10 years time after wasting billions they will say nuclear isn't feasible and it's time to ramp up coal and gas.

all by design

Marin_Rider ,

she's not bad but there are better science/astronomy channels. I watch Anton Petrov religiously, I don't think he even does sponsors

Why Furiosa’s CGI Looks More Fake Than Mad Max Fury Road ( screenrant.com )

Even in trailers for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the prequel looks notably different from 2015's Mad Max: Fury Road. While the deep orange hues of the outback-turned-wasteland persist, Furiosa's overall use of CGI is much more apparent — and somewhat jarring. Initially, director George Miller had intended to shoot Furiosa and...

Marin_Rider ,

I was rewatching fury road on the weekend and this was something I picked up on I hadn't noticed before. it's quite apparent in scenes where a sense of urgency is required, such as when Max is trying to escape from the warboys in the citadel near the start of the movie

Marin_Rider ,

it kind of looks like scenes are being sped up, but when you pay attention you can see the action is moving at a normal pace, but looks faster. it's a clever effect used in the right places

Marin_Rider ,

its not so bad but something you will notice now you know about it!

Marin_Rider ,

hating EVs is a lifestyle choice for too many people in australia

Marin_Rider ,

it wasn't even the first take, the headline had me wondering whether Seal was a marine biologist

Marin_Rider ,

I'm lazy and can't be fucked shaving regularly

Marin_Rider ,

I've (recently) stopped shaving entirely, but I use my trimmers to to a quick hackjob on the area I used to manually shave. so my facial hair care routine is about 5 minutes every 2 weeks or so, plus maybe 5 minutes a month to buzz my head. can't believe I used to spend that much time every couple of days to look like shit. now I still look like shit but have a few more minutes

Marin_Rider ,

not demolishing a single mosque isn't exactly the kind of standard one sets when determining xenophobia

Marin_Rider ,

wet wipes need to just be banned. all they do is clog sewers

Marin_Rider ,

they were terrible. I didn't mind one of the animated ones though

Marin_Rider ,

I remember hearing that tolkien when reading the songs aloud never sang them, so noone really knows what they should sound like

Marin_Rider ,

its relieving to hear others didn't like the book because everytime it gets brought up you usually see nothing but gushing praise bordering on fanaticism. I liked the concepts behind them but really didn't enjoy reading them at all

Marin_Rider ,

ever since I tasted oat milk ill never go back to animal milk at all. I tried for years to like soy or almond but never really could get into it, now all that's sorted

Marin_Rider ,

the funny thing is that this comment reminded me that phones are still actually phones! I make and take so few calls it's easy to forget

Marin_Rider ,

I hope she has more integrity than the last bloke. thinking secret ministries weren't something he should have addressed or made public was dodgy as fuck

Marin_Rider ,

I buy physical and obtain a digital copy later to chuck on the kindle. I enjoy reading physical books but time and life make it harder, plus I like to buy collectors editions where possible, they are not for reading (to me)

Marin_Rider ,

I think its a move to keep banned people out, as old reddit was the loophole people used to make new accounts. can't create an account via VPN on old reddit if you can't access without being logged in

Marin_Rider ,

had the same issue. built a new pc and was able to access it fine, just gotta be careful not to use reddit on any device my old account was present on.

the funny thing is, I'm not even using a VPN or doing anything to mask my identity. it seems to be purely hardware recognition

Marin_Rider ,

just use no straw and drink straight from the cup, the way you would any drink at home

Marin_Rider ,

the problem with lemmy is your either a communist or fascist, with no in-between. it's this rediculius polarisation that makes it not very fruitful to have actual conversations around here

Marin_Rider ,

all I remember was Biden saying "will you shutup man"

Marin_Rider ,

same in australia

Marin_Rider ,

there's always outliers. don't worry noone is saying you need to walk in those circumstances

Marin_Rider ,

we wound up in a gay bar on a bucks night pub crawl once and it was awesome. also one of the only times in my life I was hit on and yeah, it's flattering!

Marin_Rider ,

exactly! just enjoy the compliment

Marin_Rider ,

what a dystopia.

literal hell on earth is a place with people like that in power

Marin_Rider , (edited )

not a huge fan to be honest. the discourse has become very toxic, the reddit hivemind was silly but here don't you pretty much have to be an extremist or suffer all manner of rediculous replies. apparently taking a balanced view to literally any topic gives one the label of "fascist" around here, cheapening the word and killing legit discussion.

I liked it when it was mainly that picard dude posting memes

its not the site that's the problem. it's the "community"

Marin_Rider ,

same, but got a new account on reddit that didn't get banned (after first rediculous ban I couldn't make new accounts without being autobanned) again so I spend more time there now. we shat on reddit a lot at the start but at least we can have actual discussions there that aren't just calling each other fascists and tankies

Marin_Rider ,

I had the same problem and gave up. Then a few months later I built a new PC, and thought I'd give it a go. worked fine and has ever since. I guess they fingerprint your browser maybe, you might be able to try uninstalling and re-installing browser? All just to participate in some hobby subs!

Marin_Rider ,

think of it this way. noone outside America knows who that is.

everyone knows who Trump is

Marin_Rider ,

I've been dry for this year so far and anecdotally my sleep has slightly improved (not hugely noticeable by myself) my garmin data tells a very clear picture. drinking fucks with my heart overnight and now I have evidence (for myself)

Marin_Rider ,

it depends. if I get 4-6 hours sleep while camping I usually wake up full of energy and ready to take on the world. that said, I don't often sleep well outdoors so 4 broken hours is usually what I'd consider "a good night"

Marin_Rider ,

yeah I got a watch 4 for free with my s22 ultra, I gave it a good shot and used it for a few months but went back to my garmin. I simply don't need a lot of the "smart" features aside from notifications and fitness tracking, which garmin does better, and then there's the battery.... different worlds there

Marin_Rider ,

yeah I'm sure the group who's motto is effectively "fuck the jews" are people that can be reasoned with. maybe focus on the genocide that's actually happening, not the one that tik tok influencers told you to whine about
