Can someone give me a brief intro to orca slicer? Who is it made by and what's it's quirk?

For example prusa slicer, made by prusa, prioritizes user interface and has powerful almost modeling features (text, cutting etc)

GrayBackgroundMusic Mod ,

Fork of a fork of a fork.

GrayBackgroundMusic ,

Polite company: peace, rest, calm, something like that.

Honestly: people to leave me the fuck alone and stop asking me to solve their problems and take care of everything. I'm burned out on being responsible for other people.

GrayBackgroundMusic ,

One of my favorite games. Still play it. I have the soundtrack on vinyl, it's so good.

GrayBackgroundMusic ,

I've only managed that once.

GrayBackgroundMusic ,

Same. Macos pronounced like tacos is so much better.

Just wait until you get to nuclear chemistry/physics. We use invisible rays, which can kill you, to turn one rock into a different rock, which possibly can kill you. Only if you have studied for many years are you allowed to wield the magic transmutation beams. We create elements not likely seen in nature (possible, but unconfirmed because of their short lives). We create temperatures colder than anywhere else in the universe. We peer at the fundamental forces of nature and then fuck with them.

9/10 of my graduate professors couldn't profess their way out of a paper bag. The actually good teachers were limited because they didn't research enough. Fuck grad school.

GrayBackgroundMusic ,

Every CEO I've worked for, I could do the technical part of their job. I couldn't do the political part because I'm results and data driven. Their prideful fuckers who yell louder and demand satisfaction and wield their ability to fire you. Fuck CEO 's.

I don't have hard evidence for this, but I would wager that it's just getting louder. We'd rarely, if ever, hear about hate violence when I was a kid. Now it's everywhere. Why? Is it because it's more? No, statistics show violent crime is on the decline. It's because it's louder. News media didn't use to talk about it, they'd hush it up or write about other reasons. Now it's more accurately reported because there are lots of public LGBT voices.

GrayBackgroundMusic ,

This reminds me of Wendy's frosty and fries.

GrayBackgroundMusic ,

This feels like a more widely available of habanero mango combination

For those who've never heard it spoken, it's pronounced mol-ay, like frijole. It is not mole, like role.

GrayBackgroundMusic ,

Cheddar and sliced apples. I don't think it's rare and no one gives me crap when I eat it, but I never see anyone else do it.

GrayBackgroundMusic ,

I've made an imperial stout cheesecake. Delicious.

GrayBackgroundMusic Mod ,

Not to name and shame but what's the stl link? I've never seen this before and I'd like to.

GrayBackgroundMusic Mod ,

It let me download and publish a make. (I got all the way to the confirm on make, but didn't commit.)

GrayBackgroundMusic ,

Some of my hobbies. I don't talk unless people ask (like you did). I never talk about anime, muscle mommies, etc. (shoutout !fitmoe). I'll talk about regular hobbies (like !homebrewing or !bready baking.

Sexuality/romantic stuff. I'm bi, but I never talk about it, unless it's relevant or to encourage someone. I'm married anyway, so that time of my life is passed.

GrayBackgroundMusic ,

I like the smell of other people. We work so hard to scrub ourselves clean, but I like to smell of people, even sweaty. I ask my spouse not to shower too often, lol. (Not trying to ask them to be super stinky... just a little favor.) I sneak a little smell every time I hug my kids.

IDK if this is popular or not, but I never hear anyone talk about it, so *shrug*

GrayBackgroundMusic ,

A couple of times. Basically one in a million. A whiskey event near me. A metal store selling steel bar stock.

GrayBackgroundMusic ,

How did I manage to come off as so brainless and lacking in self respect that I’d have nothing better to do than be someone’s wife?

genuinely curious, how did "you'd be a good wife" turn into "you'd be brainless and lacking in self respect, and would be nothing more than a spouse"?

GrayBackgroundMusic ,

Going to loud parties with more than 5 people. 1) loud things hurt my ears and give me a headache. 2) can't hear the person you're talking to anyways bc of loud. 3) why are there 50 people here? Past 5 ppl, you can't really talk to people well and the space gets crowded.

Great for you if that's your thing but not me.

GrayBackgroundMusic ,

And it dismisses the time component of self hosting. It's not going to be zero.

GrayBackgroundMusic ,

Big? Rail gun to launch stuff into orbit.

Small? A proper shed/workshop instead of a corner of the garage. I know it asked impractical, but with how long I've been trying to make space for myself... It feels impossible at this point.

GrayBackgroundMusic ,

Yes, I love the idea! It's too much, in my opinion. The centrifugal forces to achieve that linear speed are just too high. I love the idea and I'm glad they're actually trying it.

GrayBackgroundMusic ,

It's something, for sure! I feel like after 15 years of trying to get proper space, it's just not gonna happen. Maybe there's a chance in the distant future but everything and everyone in my life is pushing back on it. Sigh.

GrayBackgroundMusic ,

That is so organized. I love it.

GrayBackgroundMusic ,

Last I saw it launched a dummy payload just fine. However, the payload has to be rugged stuff. It can't be sensitive equipment because of the high G forces due to the rotation.

What song should I play for my bathroom neighbors?

The work bathroom is currently a warzone, on their phone speakers people like to play music, play games at full blast, and one guy likes to chill to ambient rainforest. What song can I play to passive aggressively make it known that I don't want to listen to their tik tok feeds while I work out my demons?

GrayBackgroundMusic OP ,

Oh, wow. That's amazing. My parent isn't as bad in severity as his mother, but there are a loooooot of commonalities. Wow. It also made me think about my 2nd parent and how they didn't stand up for me as much as they should have. Wow. I'm gonna chew on this and watch it again.

GrayBackgroundMusic OP ,

You sound like the person in the video that was linked in another reply.

/u/TwigletSparkle@lemmy.blahaj.zone
I highly recommend this video, it’s by a therapist who went through a similar thing and he breaks it down very well:

One is the permanent loss of any possibility of receiving the parental love that every child deserves.
The second is the actual human being that was your parent.

I think it's the former. I grieved the parental relationship several years ago when I realized it would never change.

GrayBackgroundMusic OP ,

Isn't it great? It summarizes what I've felt but unable to put a name to.

GrayBackgroundMusic OP ,

And either way - I’m sorry you’re having to go through this, it sucks.

Thanks :)

GrayBackgroundMusic OP ,

Why do you think you should feel bad for them passing?

Because that's what's typical. People typically grieve the passing of their parents.
Because I'm hard wired that way. I want/love/crave family at a base level. I had kids because I love having a family. I'm a family person. I know, intellectually, that my parent is garbage, but I am emotional as well.

GrayBackgroundMusic ,

When I say they're overrated, I mean I don't understand why they're so popular. They're not bad but they're not that good, either. I don't understand the praise lauded on them. It's too much relative to their quality.

I can understand if someone loves them in their time. For example, Nirvana was absolutely amazing in their time. However, it's been 30 years and that sound is a lot more mainstream, but in their day, they were breaking new ground.

But my kids age? Why do people think they're that good?

GrayBackgroundMusic ,

The idea of getting something before I know its usefulness confuses me.

My spouse buys things because they seem neat. Uses them once or twice, then not again.

GrayBackgroundMusic ,

Cmon over to lemm.ee. They blocked us. As much as I miss the gems in their swath of noise, I don't miss ppb.
