A few birds from my walk around the lake this arvo (returning from the other side of campus from a job)

We have a Hardhead (and its reflection); a Dusky Moorhen chick; an Australian White Ibis (aka Bin Chicken), washing itself; a Magpie Lark (aka Peewee)

The slate grey fluff-ball that is a Dusky Moorhen chick, standing on reeds at the edge of the lake. It has an orange beek, and little orange patch on the top of its head, but is otherwise grey and fluffy.
The infamous Bin Chicken (Australian White Ibis) splashing about in the shallows washing itself. It is directly facing the camera, with its wings partly folded and away from its body such that they look like feathered arms.
A Magpie Lark (or Peewee as they are colloquially known). It is a black and white bird, and has turned its head to the right so one black eye stares at the camera.

A few small patches of bioluminescent ghost fungus (Omphalotus nidiformis) out at Corunna, NSW after recent east coast low rains. Took a couple of photos just before midnight under pale moonlight.

Wallaby in the backyard this morning :)

It has been a few weeks since I last saw her in the yard, but today is overcast and occasionally rainy, so in one of the gaps between the rain, she's popped down to our yard for a feed. Today's menu seems to be grass seeds and after these photos, the broad leaf weed that grows in the lawn.

A lone Hardhead (dark brown duck with white eyes) was swimming around on the lake yesterday. This morning though, there was a Bush Stone-curlew hiding under a bush, and some Dusky Moorhen chicks learning to forage from their parents.
