Song Sparrows mostly leave the downtown core for thicker woody spots like Stanley Park, but a few stay to raise families -- like white-crowns, it looks like they're ground nesters, needing only bushes and hedges.

I don’t know what it is but I love taking pictures of song sparrows. Just something about the flecked brown pattern with a green background. And they let you get so close! Some of my best photos are of these birds.
