On my way home after a long day, I was driving by this dry salt flat without glancing at it much cause usually nothing is out there aside from a random coyote.
While I was out today, this Long-Billed Curlew led me on a short walk along the top of a levee (?) along the south edge of North Nutgrass. I took several photos of my silent walking companion.
Some of the 32 species I saw today as I was driving around this morning. It was a beautiful day after the rain storm yesterday and it seemed the birds were out enjoying the cool spring morning under the bright sun.
