Very sad news for movie lovers: the legendary Roger Corman has died at age 98. Here's a tribute to him from Variety. Tell us what you loved about Corman in the comments.
@famousblueben I watched Time Cop a few months ago for the first time in forever and I somehow didn't remember that part. My initial viewing in the 90s must've made me black out or something.
Today, May 1, 1973, Police Sergeant Neil Howie finds that he is unable to leave remote Hebridean island Summerisle. The island residents celebrate May Day with pagan rituals (The Wicker Man, 1973)
@jake4480@horror I'm supposed to see it today, but I feel so poorly that I'll probably wait until tomorrow. 'The Mummy' is also out in theaters today. I'm going to do a double-feature when I'm feeling better. They both run through Thursday at my local theater. No sleep sucks, bro...
For a decade, Hollywood hasn’t aggressively fought piracy because it saw people would pay if they made them a good deal.
But as streaming has gotten worse and more expensive, consumers turned back to file sharing. Now the industry plans to get Congress to pass new legislation to stop them.
@parismarx it’s not even about paying if it’s a good deal. Namely, because those “good deals” are usually for a limited time and then you’re either stuck paying what they want or you leave, and I would rather skip all of that. For me, it has nothing to do with the price, it’s expecting me to be lectured by your PC propaganda. I am not paying to be lectured about social injustices or the like. I watch TV to escape reality not to be slapped upside the face by it.
