The Rosemary Beetle. A small, shiny beetle with metallic green and purplish-red stripes along its back.
This beautiful beetle only arrived in the UK in 1960s but is now a common sight on garden herbs...

A few years back I did pet portraits for my followers in the other place, both for some change because I was broke and for free when I felt like drawing something cute but had no ideas and liked to make people happy. Some of them turned out quite nice!

A close up portrait of the face of a calico or tortoiseshell cat with its head resting on a fluffy blanket. Done with ink, line art and graphic markers, there is a significant amount of detail in the very middle of the face, with just suggestions of shape and colour in the rest. Pastels in hue, the cat has deep green eyes. A very pretty cat, also dated July on 2020.
An ink painting with some gouache details, of two napping cat with their heads together. They look like siblings, with white bellies and faces and black or grey backs, noses and ears. It's quite cute. Dated later in July of 2020.

I was also deep into my India ink phase and liked doing that when somebody sent me a photo of their black cat.

A mostly black ink painting of another black cat, just a tiny sliver of yellow eye and the pink of the triangle of the cat ear visible, with a wine red background. The cat's nose and face are drawn in profile, only the sheen of the fur and whiskers a standing out white. Also that same month of July!

A small, dumpy stonechat, a little smaller than a robin. It has a big head and short tail. It can frequently be seen sitting on the top of gorse bushes, flicking its wings and making a call like two small stones being hit together.

The cassowary is a large, flightless bird most closely related to the emu. Although the emu is taller, the cassowary is the heaviest bird in Australia and the second heaviest in the world after its cousin, the ostrich.
