same Lichen and moss from the side, it almost looks like a foreign worlds canyon as there is another stone directly next to the one covered in lichen and moss.

Some nice lichen clumps on this fallen branch I found. I really like the one at the bottom that looks like green cauliflower...

A fallen branch lies on some grass. It has clumps of different types of lichen growing on it - a thick, bushy grey-green variety, a more open branching one that's a little greyer, a flat lobed blue-green type, a greenish one that looks like a cauliflower head, and some dustings of yellow, green and grey blobby species

    #Mosses & #lichen growing off a #SoapFlower tree. Lichen looks like hammered shield lichen but I'm not totally sure. I don't know what type of mosses these are. There's lots of fallen, tiny, soap berry petals on them.

    Who had that mighty arm? That split the stone, pulled loose the blade? For on a rocky shore a crack describes this feat of strength.

    The lichen split the rock, my lord, & made young soils from the stone.

    And where now is that blade? In Lichen’s hand, our future king? Where now lives the hero who the ancient rocks must fear?

    Seek the crustose crown of ivory foam, the fruticose tendrils ring the dome— in golds & greens: a regal mold.

    📸 The "lawn" behind the abandoned cabin down the road

    September 2020, Johannesburg, MI, iPhone 11

    Landscape, orientation, close-up color, photo from directly above the ground magnifying, various types of lichen and moss that make up the forest floor. There are redcoat lichen, some sort of purple spiked flower, a yellow and brown leaf, a light red leaf, and some sort of green succulent on the right side. Green Pine-needle spheres grow mainly lower frame, but there's a bunch of them. It's a cornucopia of colors.
