Most of the flowers on our Stauntonia hexaphylla are white to pale pink in colour. However there are a couple of small clusters of these much darker blooms.
If we had male and female plants we could get edible purple fruit off this vine. No idea what they taste like but would like to try one day!
A gold and purple iris in my friend's garden. I never really paid attention to iris beards before and didn't realize they has such amazing color patterns.

This flowering bush is along a route to a friend's house. It's populated by a small flock of house sparrows pretty much yr round & I catch a lot of sparrow pics there. Don't know that I've seen it in bloom before but appears to be a type of spiraea.
One of those flowering shrubs that has tiny little white flowers that look lovely but are far more delicate & intricate when you take a closer look.

May will start to bring spring flowers in more profusion, though this particular one is not yet blooming here. It's pretty ubiquitous here, once it takes hold, as you can read in the linked post on my site. Enjoy this, as the bees obviously do!
