Such a pleasure to harvest: Turnip Purple top white globe. There is supposed to be a stormy rain with hail so I harvested some of these beauties here to be on the safe side: purple sprouting broccoli from last years plants, juvenile zucchini, the first celery stalks and some chard.

Purple sprouting broccoli flower buds, still closed.
On the green grass lays the harvest for one meal: 4 stalks yellow and white chard, two purple sprouting broccoli heads, one salad, two turnips, two stalks celery green and four little zucchini, partly with flowers on the top.

one of the positive things about having Mellie is that I have to go out 3 times a day and this little bugger loves to explore different areas.

Today we went to another little park next to our apartment that she was refusing to enter before.

This used to be our kids , right next door with play areas for kids, grass for football and plenty of tiny gravel roads to bike or scooter around.

The park have changed a bit. There are much much more , , bushes and from all around the world here.

This one caught my eyes. We have plenty of orange/yellow ones of them in the but this one is white and the plant is much much bigger.

    It's really gorgeous.

I think borage is my favorite thing to photograph. The tiny hairs on the stems glow so beautifully in the sun. I had a very hard time choosing which photo I liked best.

I'm going to have a lot of what ever these are.

I guess the are Chinese watermelons, but not sure.

Waiting with excitement to see the results.

No more room on the coffee table. I moved all 54 chilli plants inside because of the weather forecast: hail and tornadoes.

Hopefully the weather will be better tomorrow. The chillies are crying out for some sun.

I always forget about this clematis, particularly because it isn’t really a vine. It sends up sort of tipsy stalks and then suddenly there’s a flower. Probably a type of Clematis integrifola.

The coming weeks will be tasty and fun.

Lots and lots of buds growing in different pots. Just have to make sure I water them enough

Me, two months ago: I really cut that rose bush over the garden gate back really hard, I hope it will do OK.

I don't exactly know what these are, probably melon, but not sure. Today I saw the first male flower.

I'm hoping to see more and find out exactly what they are. I'm hoping they are Chinese water melons.

And most importantly, the 15L paint bucket is large enough for this plant

What a time to love (in the N Hemisphere 😀). Everything is happening - so lovely.

Waiting in Glasgow to travel into Benbecula for a few days where the wild flowers on the Machair will be in full bloom, the birds will be abundant and nesting, and hopefully the water alive with bugs (and the odd wild trout looking up). I’ll post pictures

A blue and purple sweet pea flower
Bright pink salvia flowers against a green foliage background

Originally thought this might be a peony when it first broke through, but that’s no peony. It certainly looks cool whatever it is. It kind of reminds me of a giant asparagus or a cross of something with an artichoke.

Last summer, a dahlia I planted where a big bush had been taken out grew into an absolutely enormous plant with big fluffy flowers strong enough to house a snail.

Poked around at the remains a bit ago and found apparently healthy tubers down there. I’d been resigned to mush.

There are sprouts! I’m not holding my breath, but there are sprouts! Considering pruning the old bits closer to the ground in order to put a cover on the new ones.

A large reddish pink to peachy pink multilayered dahlia bloom in side view with a striped snail shell perched among the petals from last September.
Several thick dry dahlia stems surrounded by snowdrop leaves, a gooseberry (I think), a hellebore and a small hosta. There are some small leaves from a ground cover near the area the stems came out of.
Closer picture of the area the old stems came out of, showing multiple small shoots emerging in various directions among the ground cover. Some look like new dahlia spikes in green and a purplish color.

Last year’s dahlia is doing well. Based on how big it got before, it’s still got a ways to go. It was at least as tall as the blueberry bush.

Whelp. I thought I’d planted some extra crocosmia bulbs in here but I’m thinking those leaves toward the front do not look like crocosmia leaves.

    Chaos gardening strikes again!
