Such a pleasure to harvest: Turnip Purple top white globe. There is supposed to be a stormy rain with hail so I harvested some of these beauties here to be on the safe side: purple sprouting broccoli from last years plants, juvenile zucchini, the first celery stalks and some chard.
one of the positive things about having Mellie is that I have to go out 3 times a day and this little bugger loves to explore different areas.
Today we went to another little park next to our apartment that she was refusing to enter before.
This used to be our kids #playground, right next door with play areas for kids, grass for football and plenty of tiny gravel roads to bike or scooter around.
The park have changed a bit. There are much much more #trees, #plants, bushes and #flowers from all around the world here.
This one caught my eyes. We have plenty of orange/yellow ones of them in the #park but this one is white and the plant is much much bigger.
I think borage is my favorite thing to photograph. The tiny hairs on the stems glow so beautifully in the sun. I had a very hard time choosing which photo I liked best.
I always forget about this clematis, particularly because it isn’t really a vine. It sends up sort of tipsy stalks and then suddenly there’s a flower. Probably a type of Clematis integrifola.
What a time to love #gardens (in the N Hemisphere 😀). Everything is happening - so lovely.
Waiting in Glasgow to travel into Benbecula for a few days where the wild flowers on the Machair will be in full bloom, the birds will be abundant and nesting, and hopefully the water alive with bugs (and the odd wild trout looking up). I’ll post pictures
Originally thought this might be a peony when it first broke through, but that’s no peony. It certainly looks cool whatever it is. It kind of reminds me of a giant asparagus or a cross of something with an artichoke.
Last summer, a dahlia I planted where a big bush had been taken out grew into an absolutely enormous plant with big fluffy flowers strong enough to house a snail.
Poked around at the remains a bit ago and found apparently healthy tubers down there. I’d been resigned to mush.
There are sprouts! I’m not holding my breath, but there are sprouts! Considering pruning the old bits closer to the ground in order to put a cover on the new ones.
