The story about NBC this morning IS that the insurrectionist they hired has now appeared on their flagship Sunday news program and is using the network to spout revisionist disinformation to the American public.
@mastodonmigration #Ronnatried to sound like a "rational" #Republican by "admitting" "#Biden is the duly elected potus", but then refused (repeatedly) to say whether she believed Biden "stole" the election (pointing to anachronisms (my word, not hers) that called into question mail-in ballot totals.)
Later, she "condemned the violence of #Jan6", but was never asked WHO she believed was responsible (#AntiFa?)
The only person more lacking in judgement at #NBC was the person who hired her.

It is a story of myth, of political philosophy, of religion, of racism, of classism, of pogroms and oppression.
There is a creation myth, there is a fractured city, there is a plague, there are doors to nowhere, there is a support group for unchosen ones, and at the center of it all there is Fetter, Who just wants to make a normal life for himself. But there are more forces trying to manipulate him into action than he suspects.
There is so much here, I'm sure I missed allot of cultural and historical references, but at it's core, this is a book about an autocrat that needs to be stopped and at it's center is a reluctant anti-hero and it is brilliantly written.

Today in Labor History February 27, 1943: The Rosenstrasse protest occurred in Berlin. The demonstration was carried out by non-Jewish wives and relatives of Jewish men targeted for deportation. It was the only mass public demonstration by Germans in the Third Reich against the deportation of Jews. The women were successful, too, forcing the Gestapo to release the 1,800 Jews they had in custody in Berlin.
Today in Labor History February 25, 1941: The outlawed Communist Party of the Netherlands initiated a General Strike in Nazi-occupied Amsterdam in protest of the persecution of Dutch Jews. It started one day after a pogrom in Amsterdam. 300,000 people participated. It was the first public protest against the Nazis in Europe. The Nazis brutally suppressed the strike, ending it after three days.
Today in Labor History February 18, 1943: The Nazis arrested the members of the White Rose movement. The activist group called for opposition to the Nazi regime through an anonymous leaflet and graffiti campaign. The Nazis put on a show trial in which none of the defendants were allowed to speak. They executed Hans and Sophie Schol, and Christoph Probst on February 22, 1943. White Rose leaflets openly denounced the persecution and mass murder of the Jews. They might have taken their name from the poem "Cultivo una rosa blanca," by Cuban revolutionary and poet, Jose Marti. Alternatively, they may have gotten it from the B. Traven novel, “Die Weiße Rose” (The White Rose).” Traven served on the Central Council of the short-lived Bavarian Soviet Republic. He escaped the terror that followed the crushing of the Republic and fled to Mexico, where he wrote numerous novels, including “Death Ship” and “The Treasure of the Sierra Madre.”
