Visuals of some local, suburban efforts in . Much of the area has been heavily developed. There's lots of fab rewilding work being done in some areas - almost all due to local volunteers/nature stewards & kind donations from public.

The efforts have paid off, after several decades of community volunteer efforts. Many wildlife & pollinators have safer habitat to live in. There's enough food for them to share in rewilded areas.

Rewilded meadow with lots of yellow buttercups & other small wildflowers.
Rewilded with lots of tall grasses & wildflowers with a tiny footpath going through a natural arched tunnel-like area, leading to another rewilded meadow.

& growing off a tree. Lichen looks like hammered shield lichen but I'm not totally sure. I don't know what type of mosses these are. There's lots of fallen, tiny, soap berry petals on them.

Look who just decided to show up in our backyard, this afternoon!!!!

A very handsome, mature & inquisitive . He was perched up in a tree, near our old, rusting swing set. Stayed there for about 10 minutes before taking off. He was pretty close! This is from my Samsung Galaxy 10 camera phone.

Mom was discharged, after she was stabilized, post day surgery/liver biopsy. She's going to rest in bed for rest of day when we get home. No strenuous physical activity for one week.

I had to ask almost all hospital medical staff, working with us today, to please put their masks on before coming near us. My handmarked mask helped with having no pushback on my mandatory mask-up request. Everyone I asked, stared at it, before grabbing masks & putting them on.

Selfie with me & Mom. She's in hospital bed, covered in blankets & has white face mask on. I'm in left corner wearing white face mask with marker text that reads: Covid Killed My Dad
Selfie with Mom - reflected off half orb mirror on ceiling. She's in hospital bed behind me. Two other unidentifiable patients are on hospital beds. I'm standing in hallway with my cane. Fisheye view.
Side profile selfie in taxi. Wearing a leather & felt hat & white mask with pink/black text that reads: Covid Killed My Dad.

They should all mask up in hospitals. For everyone's safety, including their own.

In our several hours at today, I saw over 50 completely incapacitated/unconscious very elderly patients - wheeled in/out of surgery rooms by people with no masks on. They had no choice to protect their own health by staff who should know better. ATM - Hospitals, & their many unmasked staff, are playing Russian Roulette, on patients who cannot speak or advocate for themselves.

Spent some time hanging out with some blue at the lake before coming back home 😊

Damselflies have existed since the Late period & found on every continent except Antarctica. Presence of damselflies & the larger dragonflies, indicates a healthy .

Several blue damselflies, perched on & flying around water lily leaves.

The Canadian municipality of Central Saanich, 'the land of plenty,' is plenty fed up with 'X' (formerly known as Twitter). Our municipality is leaving Elon Musk's 'X' by April. The decision was made largely due to the platform's change in ownership & "updated moderation policy." As an elected councillor, I'm so glad we're moving away from X. Are there any other municipalities leaving Musk in the dust? https://www.centralsaanich.ca/our-community @jsatre @cgainor @SueStroud @GottaLaff
