After a few days of hotel tea packet dust and watery diner iced tea, nice to be back to actual tea. DalunShan Red High Mountain Oolong from Mud and Leaves.

@ellestad @tea Good tea when traveling often feels like an extravagant and decadent pleasure...but also can provide for an essential bit of grounding, I find

@dave_heumann For some reason I didn't bring my electric travel kettle this trip. A mistake I thought I had learned many years ago. @tea

In the US, hotel rooms never have kettles. Sometimes you can sort of hack the coffee maker and get some proper hot water....sometimes

@dave_heumann Yeah, making tea in the US sucks unless you bring all the fixings. I just was struggling with space in the luggage this trip. Most "fancy" hotels have pod brewers, so the best you can do is vaguely coffee flavored lukewarm water. I don't even want to use good tea with that water. @tea
