The Heritage Foundation, using cute language, is threatening they are going to have a bloody revolution against the US. How is this not illegal?

Here's some data to inform the discussion of Corbyn's vs. Starmer's leadership in terms of votes gained...

In 2019, Labour's vote was more concentrated, this time wider spread, likely indicating tactical voters 'lending' their votes to Labour to get the Tories out & the split on the right.

However, this has been at the cost of lower majorities in 'safe' Labour seats.

How Starmer's Govt. performs will be crucial to how these trends play out in 2029.

@RolloTreadway @ChrisMayLA6 I wonder if the timing of the election meant a lot of students didn't vote where they study, voted elsewhere or didn't vote at all. Student voting can be hugely significant. Sheffield Hallam and Nick Clegg obviously spring to mind. If some cities had thousands of students away wonder if that affected the turnout in some wards. Realise some may have voted wherever 'home' is or done postal votes..but.. could be a factor.

This looks like an open goal for another immediate action from the new government.

publishes a story about a house Democrat saying on a call that should step down, but that Democrat wasn't even on that call. The is making this shit up

“It should seem odd that media calls to step down were not first directed to Trump. If we are calling for Biden to step aside because someone must stop Trump from bringing down the republic, then surely it would have made more sense to first call for Trump to step aside.”

Read Timothy Snyder’s essay on fascism in America today.

For context: why might news organizations be piling on Biden?

And because he’s one of the world’s leading WWII researchers.

https://open.substack.com/pub/snyder/p/fascist-froth?r=5wdm&utm_medium=ios

The Biden administration is being held to standards, while the previous Trump administration is not; and Biden personally is being held to standards, while Trump as a person is not. This helps to generate a fascist aura. There must be something special about Trump such that he is different from others: a Leader beyond criticism rather than just an indebted hack or a felon from Queens or a client of a Russian dictator.

This line from NPR tells it all: “French voters turned out in numbers not seen in decades to stop the far-right National Rally from taking power in the French National Assembly.”

Well done France. Common sense prevails! Far right politicians and anyone related to far right organisations are a threat to democracy.
I hope America takes note. The world doesn’t need President Trump…

Not only does go back a quarter century to Dubya, but many of the goals are straight up Reaganism. Meet the new fascists, same as the old fascists. The threat is neither unique nor unprecedented.

cant decalre victory until the results are in, but, relief in France as the far-right seems ot be blocked from leadership

The first projections in the 2024 French legislative election say leftists have won most seats. The surprise projections put President Emmanuel Macron’s centrist alliance in second and the far right in third.

Trump calls Biden a ‘pile of c**p’ in golf cart rant

Imagine for a moment (suspend disbelief) that President Joe Biden was playing golf, riding in a cart. Inexplicably, he starts asking strangers about the debate and launches into a profanity-filled rant directed at Donald Trump.

And someone films it.

Do ya think it would be on the front pages and lead cable news outage?

I've already posted on this but wanted to emphasise what a good move making James Timpson Minister for Prisons is;

He knows the brief so well, he has not just commented on prisons & rehabilitation he has acted on his beliefs & made a real difference.

If this is indicative of how Starmer thinks governance should be conducted then things will likely go well for Labour in office.

Lets hope this isn't ruined in a reshuffle forced by 'events'
