I lived through the 80's, and that feels like an accomplishment. Sound track is Prince, Michael Jackson, Huey Lewis, Cyndi Lauper, Bonnie Hayes, Ry Cooder, Joe Jackson, Doc Watson, the Neville Brothers, Katie Webster, Bonnie Raitt...so much fun music of that decade. I've been trying weird blends. This one has Cinsault, Zinfandel, Grenache, Barbera, Petit Sirah, Tannat, Mouvedre, Clariette Blanche, Sangiovese. Called "The Puppet", chillable red wine. I think it's the winery version of a café whose "house blend" of coffee is what they sweep up off the floor.

All good here. In 1969, weed was so illegal that one joint could send you to prison. This friend flunked out of architecture school, and died a couple of years later of a drug overdose. In those days, I filled many sketch books, breaking the shackles of good draftmanship. Have not found my drawings of Robert Plant in bell bottoms, from a 1970 concert.

Book review#15 for 2024 C. Raymond Calhoun's Tin Can Sailor: Life Aboard the USS Sterett, 1939-1945. The writer was an officer aboard the Sterett from its commissioning in 1939 until a combat wound required him to leave the ship in 1943. The emotional bond the crew had with one another is something that came out in the writing.
