@dansup Dark Mode has been a major issue for me in the iOS beta due to contract issues.

The cursor and text selection are impossible to see, and the keyboard and context menus don’t respect the system-wide dark mode.

@dansup support LLaVA or similar model for alt-text generation describing images.

The @IceCubesApp for Mastodon does this very well (see example image and auto generated alt text below) and may be worth a look. Also this article from @joe was useful for me in understanding where to start with this.

@dansup @pixelfed I love this, but my primary concern is losing the context when users rely on inline hashtags. By pulling a tag out of context it can completely break the flow of the post.

If you could identify inline tags and leave the content in place, but add the tag to the footer. It would work fine.

“This #tag adds meaning.
#pixelfed”

Could become:

“This tag adds meaning.

[tag] [pixelfed]”

Parents of teens, I need a book recommendation!

This is to appease some well-meaning but overtly Christian and out-of-touch family members. Something for a 12yo who reads well above his age, along the lines of inspiration/motivation for teens to be good humans and members of society

Rather than have them pushing propaganda on my son I’d like to find a worthwhile read they will feel addresses the insufficient Christian influence in his life

I am not Christian, but I don’t mind giving him “Christian” books as long as the message doesn’t focus on human guilt/sin, the worthlessness of humanity without a saviour, or racial/gender/orientation/etc. intolerance.

It’s just that everything they are trying to free him focuses on the “traditional Christian” concept of what it means to grow into being a man. It’s all rubbish I can’t tolerate.

@philip_cardella I think the expectation is non-fiction, but I like the suggestion of biographies over self-help. I like the Carter suggestion.
