I was a master at Virtua Fighter. They had it at the PX when I was in the Army, and I could play all day long on a single quarter, as long as people kept challenging me. Nobody could beat me!
I think that's DS and not GBA. FF3 is posted in the pic because it was only released on DS and not GBA so the only way to have the "full" set is by showing 3 as the lone DS game.
Oh shit. Didn't even realize that game boy is one from the next ruled my childhood so I don't think I really notice the change from one to the next looking back, but Ashley love everything about dual screen stuff. Being able to see the stats up top or whatever was always the just smartest coolest thing for me but sometimes feel like I'm in the minority there
I'm so sorry. So much flicker. I grew up with a 2600 in the house and 8 year old me even had strong opinions about the 7800 being the proper successor, but a lot of 2600 stuff is more interesting as a time capsule than a game.
Have you played the Switch remake as well? I'm wondering if it is worth playing the original. I actually like Gameboy graphics, but the music is hard to get used to.
Does the VCS even have a dial controller as an option? Obviously the 2600 original did, but I almost backed the VCS and don't remember anything other than the paddle and a modern style controller as options.
According to promotional material, the 2021 VCS "Classic Controller" has a twistable joystick for paddle controller functionality. "Paddle" is the usual term for the rotary analog controller, which I think is what is meant by "dial controller"
I must not remember correctly but I didn't think it was possible to "beat" asteroids. I thought it just went on forever...like space... I remember playing one game for hours and hours.
The old-school term for that was "flipping" a game. Super Mario Brothers and Zelda and the NES era more generally really brought in the concept of "beating" games.
Thanks for all the help. ive read all the comments. i think my main problem is that im too strict on the games i play(purposely making it harder or just replaying the game if i forget a bit of the lore).
this is a long term thing so i cant really give an update but this has got me feeling pretty confident
