As a kid, I used to borrow my sister's games and play them (which I think annoyed her because I always got further than she did...) and it got to the point where they "de facto" became mine and are now somewhere in my games collection.
I guess I feel guilty about it, but haven't really spoken to her about it.
I have a modded Game Boy Camera with a custom wide angle lens, a GB Operator, and lots of video calls. Sounds like it's time to downgrade from my 4K DSLR feed!
Interesting that they released a game on the digital store when the predecessor basically gave the middle finger to Nintendo and made their own carts for the nes that were not authorized. their carts would use in-built switches to bypass the drm chip on the nes.
It would be nice if we could install the extra RAM and then boot Morrowind from the hard drive. We could disable the game's config flag that forced it to soft reboot the console on load in order to free up leaked memory. Load times for that game would be so much faster.
@Debs@trd As far as I know there never was a spiritual successor other than of course Lode Runner 2 itself which really wasn't the same thing at all. I think licensing issues caused the Lode Runner games to fall into an IP limbo or something and somehow somewhere along the way everyone seemed to have forgotten about these games.
I have seen a recent "3D" Lode Runner appear on the Switch, but IMO it wasn't any fun at all. I'd still consider Sierra's Lode Runner game to be the best of them all personally.
That stinks. It's such good gameplay. I feel like it's ripe for someone to take the gameplay loop and put their own spin on ie. What Dungeons did with dungeon keeper.
@Debs Agreed 100%. I think the primary problem here is that most of those who could possibly forgot about its existence.
Imagine a much more complex modern game with its basic mechanic too. I could see this actually being really interesting in a 3D world. Sort of like Deception, but less dark, lol. First person might make it even more interesting still.
Could be that it just looked different on pc.
I was looking for that game a decade or so ago and only found references to the playstation version abd gave up at the time. That game stole many a day from my life, was even a map editor so making cusom levels was so fun.
@Debs This was one of my absolute favorites back in its time -- though I far preferred the PC version. (The editor is better with a mouse and save to files that could be shared/downloaded.) Something about a game having an editor always appealed to me as a kid even though I never really did anything significant with one. (I just enjoyed building stuff, lol.)
I was absolutely excited for Black and White when I was younger. In school we had to write an article for English class and I chose to write about Black and White's upcoming release. I got a good mark from it and my English teacher was equally intrigued.
The game came out and I sunk a good amount of hours into it. Was it the best game? No of course not, but it gave me great memories. I don't think I'll ever go back and play it again as it won't live up to the nostalgia, but it would be interesting if someone attempted to tackle this kind of genre again.
The Universim from the brief looks I've given it seems to fit the bill to me, my partner's been playing it and it's made me want to replay bw2, I've got all my disks but can't find my cd key so... Prey 2006 same thing.
Same, the big box should still be at my parents so have some hope, they gave me a lot of the stuff they still had in my room when they moved, but not everything, maybe it'll turn up when I finally unpack all my stuff.
