I was watching this female yellow-rump (in the background) foraging and preening, but the shots weren't great. Then her (presumably) boyfriend just dropped in and gave me a show. I love when that happens.

Incidentally, that's the first time I've seen these guys in the downtown core. Lost Lagoon, yes, a bunch of times, but never even in the seawall parks -- Vancouver, April 24

A male Yellow-rumped Warbler (Audubon's subspecies, with solid grey face and yellow throat) is up in a tree surrounded by reddish leaves, facing me and looking up. The light is a bit dim and the sky is grey. In the background and out of focus, higher up in the tree, is a female of the same species and supspecies, preening herself
