“#Trump attends critical hearing: Trump is in court as the federal judge presiding over the classified #documents case against him and his two co-defendants is hearing arguments this morning on motions focused on dismissing the charges brought by special counsel #JackSmith.” #legal
@GottaLaff This could be a good thing. If Cannon rejects his Presidential Records Act argument, he's likely to start publicly ranting against her, which might make her decide to protect her own career instead of a senile idiot and start tearing down the roadblocks she's erected.
@GottaLaff As I understand it (and I could easily be wrong), his argument is that as president he could keep anything he wanted that he accrued during his administration. The Constitution’s two emoluments clauses clearly prohibit that. One only has to visit any presidential library to see what most former presidents do with such things, or at least the ones that are not classified. Of course, the very thought that he would ever have his own presidential library is laughable.
