Newly unearthed video of N.C. GOP gubernatorial nominee Mark Robinson in 2020: "I absolutely want to go back to the America where women couldn’t vote."
@GottaLaff
I'm convinced they are simply just trying to give us all strokes with their unmitigated asshole-ery. These aren't even like real people. Creations. They are pushing, testing - how much buffoonery will America tolerate.
@GottaLaff@JudyOlo I agree with both of you. The buffoonery is a routine, and part of a coordinated if not scripted effort. They know exactly what they are doing, which makes them dangerous and loathsome IMO.
@GottaLaff If people repeat their awful voting stunts of 2016 which got us in this mess in the first place, we're all in so much trouble. If Biden isn't a person's cup of tea, that's fine. But doing anything other than voting for Biden to make sure trump goes is irresponsible, immature, reckless, selfish and short-sighted.
I really need to be the President... 2028 perhaps...
@JasonStiff@GottaLaff There isn't enough money in the world to get me to take the job. And if they gave me all the money, for sure Congress would block me from spending it how I'd choose to, because I wouldn't be throwing nearly enough of it into the pork barrel.
@GottaLaff Note that removing the right to vote from women puts him on the same page as Trump (Vance, Blake) supporting tech billionaire Thiel who finds freedom and democracy incompatible. He thinks democracy went wrong when women got the right to vote.
@GottaLaff Finally, a bit of media focus on his extreme misogyny. So many articles about his extremism list his bigotries as anti-semitism, Islamophobia, homophobia, and transphobia but inexplicably leave out how much he hates and wants to disenfranchise the largest block of voters. We have to stop normalizing and overlooking misogyny.
@GottaLaff Every Republican who's in a marginalized group is there because they have a violent hatred of some other group, and think they're magically protected from the Republicans who hate them, too.
"North Carolina Lt. Governor Mark Robinson, who won the GOP gubernatorial nomination Tuesday night after getting Donald Trump’s endorsement, has called for 51% of the Tar Heel State’s voters to be barred from voting."
@GottaLaff The lack of self awareness is other level. Apparently he hasn’t noticed that many of his fellow party members would like to go back to the America when black men couldn’t vote.
There are a LOT of people in you little extremist maga camp who’d like to go back even further there, Mr. Robinson… to a point you couldn’t vote or run for office… careful what you wish for.
