It’s official: The CDC has weakened its COVID isolation guidelines, in a move that goes against the science, encourages disease spread, and prioritizes corporate interests, making it easier for bosses to exploit workers.
@luckytran I wonder if I will ever trust the CDC again. I wonder if any intelligent, informed person will again in my lifetime. I can't imagine what it would take.
@luckytran I keep putting off activities that are too high risk for me (administrative tasks that have to happen in person eventually, medical care, things like that), in the hopes that one day we'll have policies that are not designed to kill me, and instead everything keeps getting worse. The stress of that, on top of the external reality, combined with the wholesale gaslighting... is a lot.
@luckytran and in a few months time we have to put up with more “golly gee what’s happening” articles from WAPO and NYT about why everyone is even sicker now.
Ours is a for-profit system of government first and a representative form... somewhere down the list of possible forms. Express surprise as you wish, but expect readers here on #mastodon to assume your surprise is likely feigned and performative, signalling your frustration. And that's okay.
@luckytran Is there a CDC like institution in any country that is doing a more honest job? I’m asking because maybe if we can show that to others we can push back better. #CDC#COVID
@luckytran
FFS! #CDC should drop "Control" from the name. Its just a center of disease now. Absolutely shameful conduct and giving in to the #antiscience ignorance in America. Is the #EPA going to claim #GlobalWarming is good for us now?
