Disability is different than you think. It steals time: hours, whole days, sometimes years. I spend my time repairing audio. I'm a former professional musician. I studied under Nancy Scheper-Hughes, George Lakoff, Avital Ronell, & David Wessel. My grandfather was a labor journalist, and is also an influence.

There is nothing a single person has ever ever ever ever done or will ever ever ever ever do in all of time and space that merits paying them 56 billion dollars—

Madness. Obscenity. Ludicracy

@futurebird What if $56B were the prize on Billionaire Highlander (“There can be only one”)?

The foundational tenet of "the Cult of Mac" is that buying products from a $3t company makes you a member of an oppressed ethnic minority and therefore every criticism of that corporation is an ethnic slur:

It’s official: The CDC has weakened its COVID isolation guidelines, in a move that goes against the science, encourages disease spread, and prioritizes corporate interests, making it easier for bosses to exploit workers.

Doctor on possible revision to CDC's COVID guidelines: "Frankly, there's been no change in the science. This is about what corporate America wants."

    video/mp4

    ntrembath ,

@luckytran The change is in the new CDC director, Dr. Mandy Cohen. According to the CDC, Choen's not an epidemiologist nor a virologist. They’re an internist who ran a private medical business before their political appointment to North Carolina’s DPH. NC’s Covid vaccine booster rate: 67%. Florida’s: 70%. Virginia’s: 77%. Curious whether the CDC’s public recommendations are the same as the White House's internal protocol protecting Pres. Biden.

@luckytran Huh, the White House, even for tourist visitors, hasn't adopted the CDC's recommendation: "Within the 10 days prior to the public tour, anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19, has had any COVID-19 symptoms, or been in close contact with someone confirmed or suspected to have COVID-19, should stay home." Thinking about judges wigs and other trappings of power.

Apparently in Poland when they have legal court everyone wears robes: different colors for attorneys and the judge etc.

Of course in the UK judges still wear wigs which US judges are free to wear too, but simply don't.

On the US Supreme court it's just black robes-- Clarence Thomas, Antonin Scalia, and Stephen Breyer have all tried to make skull caps happen but no one else cared.

US Supreme Court justices only some of them bother with the skull cap.
