But I still do not understand why the Democrats failed to find an adequate successor for Biden by now, who by the way, if I remember correctly, said after the election that he only wanted to stay for one term! Whenever you read a stat like this, you have to step back and remind yourself that this is referring to the 25% of the country that currently explicitly identifies as Republican. https://news.gallup.com/poll/15370/party-affiliation.aspx
(Independents are evenly split.) So here, 68% (the non-32%) of 25% is 17%... In other words, less than 1 in 5 people who might vote believe that Biden didn't win.
