@GottaLaff was always clear this was the end result. Manchin loves puffing himself up and getting fluffed by the press, but he’s smart enough to know how running a third-party candidacy would end.
@GottaLaff I actually liked how you had Sen. Joe Manchin () before the edit. Because that’s what he is…nothing. No party affiliation just committed to his own interests and whenever his donors tell him to do.
@GottaLaff Joe Manchin sucks for all of the known reasons, but I’m pissed that he decided to retire and cede the Senate seat to Republicans. His vote gave Democrats control of the Senate and the ability to confirm judges. Worth it.
@Wileymiller@GottaLaff As frustrating as Manchin has been, as long as WV gets Senate representation I'd rather have him in the Senate than anyone who has a plausible chance of succeeding him. He delivered on judges and on the Inflation Reduction Act. I don't love him, but I think we'll all miss Manchin starting in January 2025 when we see Senator Jim Justice.
