Helping a friend look at houses and stumbled on these uncanny haunted photos.

What is going on with their teeth??

A woman with hair.
A closer view of creepy smiles.

@futurebird Photoshop before Photoshop existed. Someone did a bad touch-up job to make the couple look "ideal" for that era. Looks early to mid 70s to me. That guy almost looks like Cleveland news anchor Judd Hambrick, but younger: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6z3MeQoP74

@futurebird
they don't look like photos to me. They look like someone with previous artistic experience newly learning to use an airbrush. Especially the man's hair.

Did your friend buy the house?

@futurebird this looks like cover art for a late 90’s era album

@futurebird

Obviously the two people in the 1st photo "borrowed" their excess of teeth from the woman in the 2nd photo.

That explains both why their toothy smiles look much bigger than they should, and the "How could such a thing be possible?" look on the 2nd woman's face.

@futurebird I'm thinking these people were not having a good day. The dude has turned up still drunk. The woman is gritting her teeth and trying to force a smile for the picture. The whole thing has been retouched.

@futurebird The teeth are just to distract you from the eyes

@futurebird I believe that the happy couple ate several of the wedding party. The solo woman is clearly a 70s android.

@futurebird Arghh!! I’m not entirely sure these two aren’t covering some kind of two way mirror. Do the eyes follow you like a scooby doo portrait? :blobcatscared:

Wharrrrrrgarbl ,
@Wharrrrrrgarbl@an.errant.cloud avatar

@futurebird are they recent enough that it could be a real estate agent staging with some AI vomit? The too-toothy smiles make me think of that.

futurebird OP ,
@futurebird@sauropods.win avatar

@Wharrrrrrgarbl They seemed like real old photos. Not recent by the frame and wear and tear.

@futurebird These formal photo portrait places used to offer retouching services (still do?) but these look like they went full uncanny valley

At first I was going to say they were Dutch Reformed in West MI.

Upon closer inspection, just. No.
