Trump’s tax law cut the corporate tax rate from 35% to 21%.

What did corporations do with the money saved?

They didn’t invest it or raise wages.

They spent a record $1 trillion on stock buybacks the year after the law went into effect.

Nothing trickled down to workers.

@rbreich Reversing that cut would help decrease inflation and lower interest rates.

If you're looking for a way to capitalize on the carnage caused by SCOTUS this week, may I recommend becoming a federal trail lawyer or a federal judge. We gonna need a lot more of each of them.

@jerry How about just taking power away from the judiciary on technical matters they don't know anything about via an act passed by congress and signed by the president?

@DemocracyMattersALot She says she's afraid for American democracy, but doesn't seem concerned with the possibility that her incapacitation at some point from 2025-2029 could result in yet more extreme rulings like this.

A lightly left-leaning generally Democratic friend has just now noticed that freaking out about the election is reasonable... but they do take my opinion somewhat seriously (even after calling me "probably a communist" I have no idea)

I made such a horrible face (involentary) when they said something about giving money to Biden I had to make another suggestion ... uh..."Democracy Docket?"

Any democrats who might not get the help they need from the DNC but still might win I could also mention?

@futurebird Friend of mine from HS said he was considering voting for Trump for the first time in '24 because "Biden's senile." So, that's reassuring. I didn't even bother trying to convince him otherwise and just segued into talking about old people going mentally wacky in general. Oh well.

@futurebird He most likely does not care. If I ever try to convince him it will probably be based on abortion and the end of Roe. Now, I know ANOTHER undecided voter who I think is pro-life. Maybe that guy, I'd mention Ukraine.
