Finally, two years after the legal settlement, Apple customers who struggled with their faulty laptop keyboards will now have their payment.

But this is what I simply do not get: Apple sells a faulty product all over the world, and now US citizens get paid. What about the rest of the planet?

@randahl Not all - the settlement payments only apply to members of the class action. There’s no option afaict, to be regarded as a member of the action since deadlines have passed. Why US only? Well you wouldn’t like US civil law to extend globally would you? And remember that this ability to sue in a class action is pretty much it for US consumer protection.
