This year, I found 'em in pretty sad shape, upsidedown in a puddle on the front step. I picked good ol' SB up, and set 'em in their usual spot. They hung out for a night, then took off again.
It's like a fun relative at this point, drops in once a year, says hi, stays over for a few days, then heads out on another adventure.
Squeaky Beetle is like our family's summer mascot.
We've brought SB in to warm up when it's been a cold night, moved 'em to more sheltered locations when the crows were out, and replaced SB in their usual location on the windowsill when we find 'em in a footpath.
@alice This is beautiful. Your acts of kindness, while maybe small in the eyes of others, have made SB's life so much better. It's all we can do in the end, right?
